yes and Edwards with the BS "shutting the school down and no LSU football" bs he tried to pull. We all knew who was behind a lot of this in November AFTER the election. Come on man. If you think Edwards wasn't already influencing decisions around the university system, you're blind.

Ok but you can't then say that people questioning O or his hire are unable to separate that from wanting him to succeed.
I think Ed Orgeron is one of the most unqualified hires in big 6 history and has never once proven he can run a successful side of the ball, let alone a successful program but I hope he ends up having a great tenure at lsu.
You can disagree with a coach, his hire, and his philosophy while still wanting him to succeed.

Yeah I'm a relative of miles because I want posters to apply the same logic to themselves that they appy to others.

Miles was justly fired and I wanted him fired after 2015 but if questioning a coach means you want him to fail then a bunch of posters wanted lsu to fail under miles.

I'm sorry it hurts your vag for hypocrisy to be called out.

It was Jindal that put us into the budgetary issues. That and the price of oil.

Uhhh ok. I'm sure you have some proof of this. But Jindal was in office and actually did influence things involving the football team. Please don't take this to mean Edwards isn't an embarrassment. He is. But not because of anything involving LSU athletics. The comments about shutting down the football team didn't bother me. Obviously that was never going to happen, but I think it served to show how arse backwards our state is in its values and priorities.

let's just say the Republicans snd democrats have nobody to blame when they filed the suit to stop John Breaux from running. A blue dog democrat or conservative Democrat is exactly what the state needed at Governor 5 years ago. If that happened the embarrassment that is what Edwards pulled never happens. IDGAF about Louisiana politics since I've been gone for most of my adult life. But Breaux was my Senator and well, he wS outstanding.

I'd take him over everyone in the West except Saban and Mullen. I'd dang sure take him over any other coach in the state. I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts he lasts longer than Herman does at Texas. Herman may have pulled off the greatest heist since Russell to Oakland or Bonnie and Clyde.

Yeah, Herman is the one that landed a job he wasn't qualified for this past offseason.

Every coordinator in the sec has abetter resume than Ed Orgeron. In what universe has Ed Orgeron done anything to say he is the 3rd best coach in the West? He doesn't even have the 2nd best resume on his own staff.

Right?

Coach A
Has proven he can run a successful side of the ball.
Has proven he can run a successful program.

Coach B

Has never proven he can be a successful coordinator.
Has never proven he can be a successful head coach.

Yeah I can see how coach B be seen as the better coach.

Posters were just talking about how horrible education is in Louisiana. This is the perfect example.

Absolutely you can. Dale Brown was the only LSU basketball coach I ever knew for the first 24 years I can remember watching and I had a great many issues with him on many levels. But I always passionately rooted for LSU to win every single game during his tenure.

I agree with you bro the difference is I didn't think Miles was the worst hire in school history. You can still accomplish a lot with a loss or even two these ppl are saying O is the worst hire in school history that's a far cry from saying we will have 1definate loss. Worst in school history is 2, 3 or 4 wins that's saying we will be terrible and there's zero hope, there's a big difference in the two. And I didn't start bashing Miles the summer before his first season I only started after he was here a couple of years another huge difference.

I don't like the hire but I think we will be 7-5 bad not 2-10 bad. If I had to guess I think we will go 8-4, then 7-5,and 6-6. We should still have the most talent on the field except for the Bama game and maybe = Florida's talent.

But Miles' resume was far better than O's resume.

Miles took over a far worse situation at OSU and had them winning 8and 9 games.
O has never done that.

O is the least qualified hire in modern lsu football. Every coach we have hired in the last 60 years has had a far better resume than O.
That doesn't mean he can't have success at lsu.

100% agree that Miles had a far better resume than O does now what I'm saying is Miles was our 5th choice according to Skip O was our third and he may have had skeptics but nothing near the vitriol O is getting. As far as O being our least qualified football coach in 60 years I'd have to point to Mike Archer as less qualified he was a DC for us under a head coach who was actually the DC and had a lesser resume than O. Although he didn't do anything at Ole Miss O has more games as a head coach under his belt than Miles did when we hired him and from his own admission as well as results on the field all the data since has proved he's improved considerably. I know he didn't put either staff together but he's recruited quite a few of the kids at both places. Again to your point he didn't construct those teams but taking over when he did is equally tough and cancels out those advantages and not being able to put those staffs together can be considered a disadvantage. He had no OC at both places yet both offenses improved.
