10 MNCs, go to the NFL, win 5 Super Bowls, retire and open a franchise of sports bars called "The Hat", die at the ripe old age of 120 after flipping his 'vette on the autobahn

i think most of the people on this board who don't like Miles can't get Saban's dick out of their mouths.

He would have to at least take us to a bowl game each season, throw in a BCS bowl every now and then, win the West and SEC from time to time, and bring home the crystal. OH WAIT...
Yes, Miles makes a few questionable calls but damnit he is OUR COACH and as long as he holds that title and accomplishes the above, I will support him!

X's and O's knock on Les. He probably knows more than people give him credit for but granted maybe he isn't a genious like people think Saban is at a certain aspect of the game.
But you people or forgetting that he is the HEAD coach, not the OC or anything else. Luckily for us he is smart enough to hire great coaches that can do all that kind of thinking for him. AND THAT IS HIS JOB.
Here was hired as a HEAD coach not as a coordinator. Often times when you get a dick like... I mean a coach like Saban in as the head coach he is running the show and second guessing his own hire (DC). This can lead to problems. And often leads to assistant coaches getting pissed and leaving for other schools.
So no Les Miles isn't a great DC or OC or whatever but he is a great HEAD COACH even if you don't think so.

Play well consistently, no matter whether we win or loose.
Have most in the fan base feel that we are getting the max out of the talent, versus low-middle, as most feel now.
It is not as simple as pointing to W's and L's, it is HOW we play and how the program looks as a result of that. He sure has kept the recruiting at top level.
Show good situational awareness during the game.
Time will tell. Saturday night should provide the most meaningful insight yet.
At this timeframe - No one can point to Matt Flynn, Jacob Hester or Glen Dorsey and say they provided strong leadership and gut.
They will have to point to Miles' stars, and then admit that he was responsible for getting them on campus and forging them into their best as football players and leaders.
Geaux Big Les and Geaux Tigers!!!

Exactly why did Saban recruit PP for us? Get a grip people. We didn't look very good early for a whole host of reasons and lets all thank Les Miles for getting the W instead of trying to win big and end up possibly losing.

Miles will not be considered a great coach by many LSU fans untill he leaves for the NFL, fails and then comes back to coach another SEC West team to greatness. We will then yearn for him to come back and groan and moan about our current coach.

3-5 in the SEC and barely beating MS State and a lowly UGA team this year gives you pause. I hope Les is the answer, but I'm still not convinced, even after his 2-loss nat'l championship.

After his finished in the top 5 for his first 3 seasons, including an SEC and BCS National Championship.

Dios mio, man. I see you rolled your way into the Florida game undefeated and ranked No. 4. Well lemme tell you something, you buncha whiny pendejos, you pull any of that bush league Sega shite after the game -- if it's a tight game but LSU still loses -- and start calling for Miles' head, I take this stupid banana
and shove it into your mouths until it goes split.
Nobody fricks with the Hat, man. Nobody!

"...2-loss nat'l championship"???
WTF is that? I'll tell you: IT'S A BCS CHAMPIONSHIP!
For Miles, it means he was head coach of the 2007 LSU National Championship team, period.
I'm betting you can't find 2 or 3 people here who are LSU fans that have ever said (or posted) that term. If you are a true die-hard or even a casual LSU fan, you're pretty damn happy when your team wins it all. And those pair of 3-OT losses probably don't sting anymore. If they do, you're in serious need of an intervention.

Not saying it doesn't count as a nat'l championship. Just hoping Les is the long-term answer and not the Larry Coker of LSU football. After 5 losses last year and close games this year, I'm not sure. Glad you can see into the future though--it's a handy skill to have.

les miles has more bowl wins than "big game" bob stoops, the same amount of national championships and more BCS wins.
how is he NOT a good coach?

Weiss never won a super bowl. He was a member of a team that won a super bowl.

I for one think he is a good coach-you don't keep getting promoted without getting results. Another thing to consider-no matter what happens in the future-he has something all coaches want-a National Championship. The word's "with Saben's players" are not on the trophy....

Les is a good coach. People are still judging him from the way we played last season. I do find myself being somewhat critical of the the offensive play calling but other than that Les is the man

Yes you are otherwise you wouldn't have said it that way.

Case is closed ... Miles is a good coach. there's absolutely no argument on the flip side.
The argument should be over whether or not Miles is a "great" coach ... that's the only thing up for debate
This. And I would say he's very good.
More consistency is needed to be great. He's a great motivator and recruiter. He pulls out a lot of close games. He's great in coming from behind.
The flip side is: we shouldn't be in that many close games. We haven't had a dominant performance in a long time. Talent has bailed us in several games.

This is not only for the talking heads on ESPN, but also you nare-do-well negatigers.
Someone give me hard numbers so I can let "The Hat" know what he must do to get some respect.
Since you are a posigaytiger then you must know the answer already.
Methinks you are just flaming the board to make yourself feel better.
