Oregon is just not deep enough in the trenches to win this game.

Oregon will be deep where it's needed in this game - DL. We will be 9 deep. Our 2 minute offense doesn't require the same rotation. We are just fine with 7 OL. We have 5 guys returning from last year's rotation and 5 guys to fill ou the other 2. Depth won't be an issue. The issue will be whether Oregon is in sync with 2 new faces.

I applaud Oregon for scheduling LSU, I really do. But the onus is not on the SEC to schedule tough out of conference games to bolster that schedule's strength.

Oregon didn't schedule LSU for this game. Oregon was given an opportunity to play a quality opponent to start the season and they took it. LSU just happened to be the opponent filling out the Ducks "Dance Card" as an old guy would say.

What SEC fans should be careful about is over confidence with not taking on many quality OOC opponents. LSU, Tenn and GA are the only SEC schools that have willingly taken on quality opponents. Given the weakness of the SEC East last year people outside the conference are starting to wonder if the "depth" in the SEC is real or a myth.

The SEC East was 1-4 in bowl games last year.

Both teams have reason for confidence and reason for not being confident - Oregon's lack of a big OOC win and, well, JJ.

Here is what has me going crazy: clandestine pool workouts with marines. Per Rob Moseley: "Not sure if anybody noticed, but the two Tweets I linked in the first paragraph of this post, from players who mentioned the Marine workout on Twitter, have both since been deleted. And not only was I told explicitly that Chip Kelly was barring media from the pool workout this morning, he isn’t returning my phone call about these two workouts, too. It seems like the Ducks are really trying to keep a lid on this stuff for some reason."

WTF is Chip up to? Oh, noes, clandestine pool workouts with Marines! In all seriousness, Chip came out in the spring game with his qbs taking 1/2 the snaps under center. There is some weird shite going on.

Tiger Wings??? I think it might be more than just fun. He is switching things up. I wonder what defensive gameplan will have to be revamped the quickest?

You've have their fans bend over and concede inferiority in every aspect of the game? shite, they think they're good, we think we're good, let's just fricking play and find out.
So you object rather vigorously to LSU fans clamoring about how LSU is better than Oregon, but will defend Oregon fans clamoring about how Oregon is better than LSU. Why is that?

Les with more than two weeks to prepare AND the game is on turf? That's never ended well for any other team. Why would this be any different?

At the time I did the research and had this same debate the SEC played about 60% more games against ranked opponents than the PAC1.
It's amazing how playing 4 creampuffs can bump up your win-loss record. Thus you become ranked. So your conference plays each other and gets credit as being ranked teams for beating Creampuff State? So your teams are ranked because they beat creampuff state? Oh, how awesome they all must be. Take out the creampuff victories and then it is just all in conference losses and it will look different. LSU normally only schedules 3 creampuffs, congrats for that. The PAC12/10 has a 9 game conference schedule, how about you? Oh, you don't? So you don't have an extra game to brag about or to lose with a really tough team, like an in conference team?

LOL, GTFO. Do your research or state facts.
Scheduled from '10 PSU, aTm, Clemson, UL, FSU, and NU are feeling disrespected about now.

LSU football has become a big deal around our family's way of life these days. Going on over to tiger stadium almost every-weekend during football season is of course one of our most favorite past times, money be damned. Because I was lucky enough, as many of you were, to be raised by an LSU tiger old war school alumni back in the day, spreading the fighting tiger sprite to us, his offspring. The LSU fighting tiger spirit has become a natural tradition for the family's who children went on to become LSU alum themselves. The old war school alumni tribe has multiplied into thousands and thousands throughout the years like that. I think it is safe to write, for the most part that most of the LSU tiger fans reading this post know all about the LSU fighting tiger spirit. The LSU tiger spirit is very unique to people who simply love LSU.

This old school Fighting Tiger Spirit is stabbing at me, driving me to answer these Oregon Duck fans posting on Tiger Droppings, and for them I have this short, brief message: All you will have done, is to awaken a sleeping tiger, and filled him with a terrible resolve..

Mayhawman, your right. But I think that CLDuck was just maybe meaning only schools that have a "reputation" for traveling and facing quality of opponents from the SEC. And you likewise just cherry picked a few and of course proved him wrong. I think he was meaning their reputations. And if he was, he is right. For instance, Florida never has left their state to play any OOC game in over 20 years. But LSU, as you know, flew to Seattle to play UW a few years ago. And Tenn some of that and same with UGA in the past. So you point out slight contradictions to him, to which you are right, however he is also right as that's their rep. And btw, it is not much that has gone on even with those 3 teams named compared to the PAC as a whole- on average every single year.

And well, you don't really want to get into Scheduling debates because when you look at past schedules for the last many years it looks ugly for the SEC compared to the PAC- we are talking the easiest scheduling of any Conference compared to the hardest, just saying...
