It’s why so many of us left Louisiana and will never go back. Nobody should be surprised. I love LSU as much as anyone on this board and I long for the days of BR in the 1980s as a kid, but that’s not the city it is anymore and as an adult, I’ve become aware of the depths of corruption around every level of government within the state.
The whole thing is just really sad. I pray that things get better there but I don’t see it happening. Generation after generation of politicians just continue to choose their cronies and line their pockets, while crapping all over the taxpayers.
Spot on.
It has been 14 years since I left the state and I can say confidently that I will never move back. It would have to be like a tripling of my salary for me to consider it.
The whole state gets left further and further behind while the good ole boys network just take care of their own. It will always be like that because that is all the network knows. If you’re not part of the club, then you’re just forced to accept the state at face value.
Seeing this whole LSU fiasco over the past couple of weeks has been maddening but not at all surprising unfortunately. Hope they figure it out but I’m not holding my breath. I’m mentally preparing for Frank to be given the full time gig. Would be quintessential Louisiana.

This would answer why the executive session that was supposed to last 10-30 minutes took almost 2 hours. Especially considering that per their own words, Rousse and Dalton had worked out an agreement to split the President/Chancellor roles last week, so the disagreement wasn't that.
right the GOBN isnt going down without a fight
