Did you know that LSU played for a national title in 2017. He can’t be that spot on.

How come people can’t decide if CPM doesn’t recruit good players or if the players underperform because of him? It can’t really be both.

I think it’s more like players don’t really seem to get much better on a year to year basis under him. Pitchers especially.

You’re right, we wouldn’t need either of them if we just recruited better

Why would you even type this out knowing you don’t even follow recruiting?

PM doesn’t coach the pitchers and not responsible for their performance. I’m not sure how he can be blamed for their injuries in recent years either. Either way, they’ve made efforts to reduce injuries and it will be nice to see what happens when we have a healthy pitching staff and good batting lineup at the same time.

If I was a betting man, I would bet the field over LSU-but that’s the most logical play. There are about 18-22 teams that could win a title in Omaha. Not all of these coaches are bad. Only one team will win. So percentage wise , LSU might be a 20:1 to win ? Someone has to lose. This ain’t the 1990’s when you had maybe ten legit programs.

I understand that, but he is responsible for the program as a whole.

I’ve not heard PM speak about working with pitchers on anything. He always mentions what AD is doing with a particular player. I suppose one could make the argument that he is the head coach and he is responsible for everything and accountable for the pitching coach he hires. Other than that I’m not sure how PM is responsible for pitchers not progressing while at LSU (if that is something that’s actually occurring)

Everyone needs to read this. Especially the people that don't know shite about baseball.

We lost a Super Regional last year & I think this team will be better than last year. Not saying we will get to the CWS, but I like our chances.

Some people need to grow up & gain some perspective.

That's exactly how it works. The head coach is responsible for everything that happens on the field, good or bad.

I agree with that in general. However, if the pitchers do well, no one is going to say what a great job PM did with helping the pitchers progress this year. All credit for doing well will go to AD.

He’ll get another one here. There’s just so much parity nowadays

Plus we’re spoiled when it comes to LSU baseball

Who do you suggest we replace him with?

Then PM gets the credit for hiring a good pitching coach. The head coach has a win/loss record attached to his career for a reason. He's the one making the decisions and is ultimately responsible for the product on the field.

Orgeron is a perfect example. He admittedly is there to recruit and motivate while letting the assistants do most of the coaching. He still gets the most credit for last season because he put everything in place.

Because it seems like a generous portion of LSU fans don't understand the sport that they love. Baseball is a game of series. Continue to win series and you're doing great. There is no beating the pants off of everyone in baseball

Poor guy. I really feel for people that are mentally-challenged.
