As an alum, donor, and diehard fan, did you have any trouble cheering this guy on last night as he chunked a javelin to secure valuable points for LSU's quest for a Natty in track and field?

Holy shite. I DEMAND he be immediately removed from the track and field roster, and Woodward go to Eugene and fire the coach on the spot. This is an adult raping someone twice.

Clearly we can't accept this and before the NCAA and USA Today gets this it needs to be handled immediately. Not joking.

Regardless of anything, Casey makes absolutely no sense based on how Woodward operates.

I disagree completely. It makes perfect sense with Woodward's past.

He just paid a ton of money to a 59 year old 3x national championship WBB coach, her last coming two years ago, in Kim Mulkey. She was expensive. She was "older" (relatively speaking). But her accomplishments are at the top of her profession.

At A&M he paid a ton of money for a National Champion HC in Jimbo.

At Washington he did what was necessary to hire the most accomplished non-power 5 HC (that many tried to get) to be his next football coach.

Over the last 25 years no coach other than Skip Bertman has won as many NCs as Casey. And like Mulkey, Casey's last NC came just a few years ago. So it's not like this is just a "big name" from 15 years ago. Holy shite! There has been only 1 NC won since Casey won it in 2018

The majority of Woodward's hires aren't "up and comers" with the potential to be good. It was people who already had significant skins on the wall though many years of coaching. The ONLY difference between the Mulkey hire (which everyone lost their minds over in glee) and Casey is that Casey has been retired for 3 seasons. If Woodward is satisfied that Casey has the strong desire to coach once more then the hire would be EXACTLY in line with his usual MO.

It's surprising we have fans desperate for a guy (Tony Vitello) who hasn't really accomplished anything big (and we hope it remains that way after this weekend) far ahead of a guy that has PROVEN, multiple times, he can get what LSU fans desperately want...national championships.

You have tons of reasons to not want Casey, pedophile stuff isn't one of them, and those that think that's a reason to not want him are misinformed and moronic.

Misinformed and moronic. Very interesting words. It has been reported(not proven as fact) that Casey wanted to sit Heimlich but administrators feared a lawsuit by the family. What would be the grounds for that?

A. University was never informed of situation and now that millions are at stake we are taking you to court.

B. All the facts were provided when everyone involved was informed Heimlich would have to register as sex offender in Oregon. Recruitment/enrollment continued. You suspend we go to court.

If university were misinformed, it would be moronic not to suspend/dismiss.

If the university was not misinformed, it would be moronic to suspend/dismiss.

Keep in mind Washington was not a lifetime registry state, underage offenders who completed their sentence no longer had to register.

Oregon is a lifetime state.

But if she really hated the gays like it's insinuated, then she wouldn't have recruited or coached any girls who she thought were gay.

I think you and anybody who downvoted Choupique missed his point.

Mulkey has been attacked in the press for allegedly forcing Brittney Griner to hide her sexuality, and trying to get a lesbian ESPN journalist fired. Mulkey was also criticized during the Baylor sexual assault scandal for saying people who won't send their daughters to Baylor should be punched. And of course she was called "dangerous" for wanting the NCAA to stop COVID testing.

The point is, no one here seems to care about all that, and I don't believe they should. However, the OP and several others seem eager to draw a hardline on Casey, an equally successful coach who once had a player that may or may not have molested a relative years before Casey ever knew him. The selective outrage here is insane.

Ranters think they know more about the situation than Pat Casey.

Of course they do.

Probably right but how about based on how Coach Bergman operates? It makes way more sense when you think of it that way.

As an LSU alum, donor, and diehard fan, I did not and will not cheer this guy on. I don't care how good he is at some specific athletic task, his actions as reported in the link in your post should prohibit him from representing LSU in any official capacity as an athlete.

Actions should have real consequences. Second chances are great, but they shouldn't necessarily come with all the same perks as your first chance.
