So when his players were healthy the offense performed better and when guys with lesser skill had to play the offense was worse?
This would apply to damn near every team in the league
What I thought as well. Seems the op, and a few others, have what we call selective reading. As with anything, you can always find something to fit your argument. In this case the op had one line that fit followed directly by one that didn't but chose to gloss over it. Standard rant practice

UHHHHH, isn't obvious that when elite players like Romo, Bryant, Elliot, Dak, Witten, and the all pro O line are injured that they WILL be worse on offense????
This shite is retarded

And what about the Rant fans who’ve never watched a snap of this guys career telling people who’ve watched him and pulled for him for years that they know better and more about Linehan? You won’t find a Cowboys fan who’ll compliment the guy yet we have droves of Ranters telling them they’re ignorant and using a counter that states, Orgeron hired him so he’s a can’t miss. We don’t know his full role and he’s been in the NFL a long time so he’s not stupid. But to come here and attack people who have experience watching him and to call the hire infallible based on religious like superstition is completely ridiculous.

Well he wasn't hired to call plays, he was hired to work with E on scheme. Ensminger(the guy that called a pass on 3-17 in Austin) is calling the plays. So who GAF about Linehan's issues when in another position with different types of players?

Good bump material this fall.

Dallas is a joke and has been for a decade. They’ve been hiring and firing coordinators for the last 15 years for a reason
Forgive us if a few of us choose to look at the guys resume and entire body of work rather than 3 years in the armpit of the nfl
That organization is an absolute joke and anyone pulling for them can’t be taken seriously if they blame anyone but Jerry Jones

Dallas has won the NFC East 3 of the last 6 seasons and is the most profitable sports organization in the world. And again you’re moving the goal post based on emotion only. Linehan wasn’t any good before Dallas either. He took the Rams greatest show on turf and neutered that offense and he had a team in Detroit going up against 6 man boxes every play and couldn’t gain a yard on the ground. He’s extremely vanilla in formation and playcalling. The minute he was canned in Dallas their offense went to #1 in the NFL and Dak went from not able to throw for 150 to leading the league in yards. But you have no specific defense only ad hominem attacks which proves my point exactly. He’s been an NFL OC for a long time so he’s probly ahead of most college minds offensively but to call the hire beyond question is insane.

How do you explain the 7 of 12 seasons as an nfl OC during which he fielded very highly ranked offenses, specifically passing attacks ?
He’s had a good bit of success

For some stupid reason, idiot Kirby Smart thinks the forward pass existed in college AND pro football before Joe Brady. What a MORON, huh?
You wanna talk morons, lets talk about the Carolina Panthers. They somehow think a PGC was the real key to our performance last year. Morons!

As much as O has earned the right to be trusted, this hire is a huge stretch IMO.
Being conservative when your OL is depleted might actually be the right move. At worst, perhaps he just struggled finding a way to be productive with a losing hand. If he's able to perform well with above average talent, that's what's important.

Once again LSU didn't hire your dreamboat coach...
Go sky scream somewhere else.

Well they werent going to blame their fair haired boy, Garrett thats for sure.
Linehan is a terrific hire. Until someone tells me they couldve had Coach ______________, an Offensive Genius to come in here as a PGC, its hard to criticize this hire.
Anyone can whine, who's your pick?

That’s a good point but let’s look closer. He had just as many bottom 10 finishes as top 14 finishes on offense. There’s only 32 teams so we need to be careful when we judge based on rank ya know? Also 2 of his good seasons in Detroit were with teams that won like 4 and 6 games I believe and when you look at it their defense was about average and their run game was 26th or worse. So most of those yards were playing catch-up and garbage time yards through the air. Like I said before he’s had some success and been around awhile so he’s gotta be decent at least especially moving down a level. My worry comes from watching him in Dallas where I got to see every snap and how frustrating he was to watch. He doesn’t move his guys around at all the way we did last season and he doesn’t change personnel much and we was non innovative. Jerry was up his arse all the time about never using RPOs or Daks legs. I’m not saying he will fail I’m simply saying questioning the hire shouldn’t invite attacks.

U fans need to remember that Dallas Cowboy fans and the media that covers the team are the most arrogant people in the NFL. They truly believe the Cowboys are America's team and that their players are the best. They believe Dallas is a Super Bowl team every year
Sounds exactly like Saints fans on here since 2009. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Munoz or Lombardi fits perfectly with what we started to build and both were options for us to hire.

It’s also 100% false. I’ve been a Cowboys fan since I’m 5 and I haven’t thought we’ve been a Super Bowl contender since Pre-Season 08.

My god after reading that I can’t believe we hired him as the OC! Wait did we hire him as the OC?

We just hired a guy with major NFL experience as an OC...including a stint as head coach in the NFL as our Passing Game Coordinator...WTF is wrong with you?
This is the Rant...would you expect anything less? Scott Linehan has forgotten more about offense than all of us put together! These asshats know-it-alls will be eating crow this fall.
