“These kind of decisions are never easy when there are relations, lives and families impacted,” the statement read. “David Duggan is a close friend of mine, and I have a lot of respect for Ed Pinkham – they are both great coaches, and their backgrounds and histories speak to that.

“However, I am responsible for putting a staff together and trying to create the best environment to maximize our players’ abilities. This was my decision, and as I discussed with our Vice Chancellor (for Intercollegiate Athletics) Terry Mohajir, I believe a change is necessary for us to move forward, turn a corner defensively and get the results we want.

Our Head Coach talks up his DC after allowing 600 yards to Missouri and Mississippi State.

To be fair, you don't know what's going on in private. He may still be eating Bo's arse alive today. As a leader and manager myself, it's wise to protect your people in public. House cleaning is in private.

Let it play out.

When you are an administration that fires coaches after having 2 bad games under crazy circumstances such as COVID, it doesn’t entice top talent.

Thank you! The fricking idiots of this board don’t seem to understand that no DC worth a shite is going to come in if we fire a guy after 3 fricking weeks...

Yeh DCs across the country would be crossing LSU and the seven-figure pay day right off their lists!

Because we had them lined up this time and settled on Bo? And they were certainly running to jump aboard for the head coaching job when Miles was let go, right??

Maybe because LSU is on the hook for over 6 million on his contract? Plus Orgeron making the 2nd most in college football right behind Saban?

What?

This doesn’t make any sense.

Are you trying to say because, in your opinion, LSU made underwhelming hires that top coaches wouldn’t want to be at LSU?

Because if you believe that LSU isn’t one of the most desirable coaching destinations across the country, then I don’t know what to tell ya, pal

Behind A&M and Texas of course. Anyone else turn us down before we had to promote the interim coach? I can’t remember.

LSU just finished a 15-0 national championship and Ed O “enticed” Pelini and Lenihan as “top talent.”

Lol!

This. I don't want O publicly berating or calling out one of his coaches. Furthermore, I'm ok giving Pelini a few more games to show possibility of improvement. Firing him three games into the season is premature and could hurt us. Let's see where things stand around games 7-8.

I was officially panicked after the Mizzou game and have pretty much thrown in the towel on the possibility of winning 7+ games this year. But, I do think we should let the season play out before making a decision on Bo.

If the defense continues to look like this the rest of the year, we will have to make a change after the season.

There’s no point in firing Pelini on a wasted season. Also, there’s no money, we can’t afford firing Pelini before the last year of his contract, even then it’s a stretch..

To put it into perspective, we bought out Miles for $1.5M, Pelini is making $2.3M a year, and all of that money is guaranteed. Horrible, horrible fricking contract.

It’s not only a dumb idea, it’s an impossible idea.
