Ark QB has a sore shoulder, Pittman likes Kelly, twist moves by defense hurt Ark run game

Just a few tidbits from Arkansas coach Sam Pittman press conference. Pittman said after LSU loss to Fla State, everyone was saying how terrible Kelly is. But said Brian Kelly is an outstanding coach, he likes Kelly noting that he is a really good coach, a good man, and he’s happy for Kelly. He had communications with Kelly early on regarding Brad Davis whom Kelly decided to keep. Pittman had worked with Davis, and Kelly was just wanting some input.

I did not know that Ark’s star QB is nursing a bruised shoulder. Pittman also noted that Liberty’s twisting defense is something they must clean up, and that it was the speed of those twisting defenders that hurt Ark’s running game. LSU’s defense plays a different scheme but expects LSU to try some form of what Liberty did to test it. Pittman seemed down, not that jovial with media as in the past, guess because of the loss to Liberty. Pittman noted that Arkansas had plenty to play for vs Liberty but didn’t.
