I don’t see Thompson being penciled in for SS. He left a lot to be desired at times. I hope someone can come in and compete there.

Can we just get a catcher with an OPS around .700

Thompson is young and has a lot of potential. He has it in him to be an exceptional fielder and his bat has some serious pop. If he can just improve his approach at the plate he will be extremely solid

I agree. Watching post season baseball has made me feel we are WAYYYY behind. These teams are rolling kid after kid out the bullpen throwing 95. It’s crazy. We had one… Fontenot… and he made me have a heart attack 90% of the time with how unpredictable he can be on the mound.

Yeah, our bullpen is not on par with these teams. IMO.

Vandy has at least 3 or 4. What are they up to now? 10 walks in 3.1 IP?

Our Velo as a team was definitely down this year. We do have a few bullpen arms that throw low to mid 90s though. And we lost our hardest throwing pitcher to injury

Not at all. We need some arms more than we need position players. They better hit the JUCO market if they want to compete next year.

Not just talking about Vandy, but a weird flex. They’re playing for back to back championships. Their offense is hot garbage. They’ve done it with power pitching

Yeah.. and he hasn’t learned to pitch yet. He just threw hard. Needs to develop another pitch or two or he’ll never make it out of A ball

If you're after velo, Lansville, Selvidge, and Kudrna are three commits that will all be mid-90s guys. Not sure how many (if any) are expected to make it to campus.

Jaden Hill was absolutely lights out before this year for the most part. He definitely knows “how to pitch”

Tbh I think he was injured to start the year

I hope we get this guy, but man it really sucks for teams to lose their studs like this. SELU just lost one of their best hitters to Miami.

His secondary pitch isn’t nearly good enough yet. That fastball is all he has. Once the lineup flipped, he had trouble more times than not. Maybe he was hurt? He won’t start in MLB baseball unless he develops some good off speed stuff… he’ll be a reliever. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Dude he didn’t give up an earned run in 2020 before the season was cancelled. Something definitely wasn’t right with him this year
