He needs to get his grades in order, his head screwed on straight, and take advantage of his god given athletic ability. Then he'll be a great contributor to this year Tiger Team.

You’re comparing bad grades to rape?
Yep ...
Hard to compare the two. To my knowledge Gilbert hasn't broken any laws. Just had a rough go of it and trying to figure it all out. Probably made a snap decision, didn't work, regretted that decision and trying to see if he can put it back together. That doesn't sound anywhere near Cecil.

At least the offense has a number 2 receiver now.

Arik Gilbert will Never Play Another Down at LSU.

I don’t give a chit. If he’s eligible and makes LSU better I’m all for it! Saban wouldn’t give a chit. The dude didn’t rape or kill anyone. I watch LSU on Saturday and want a win. If he can help, hallelujah! College football is in essence professional, but only the college gets paid. I’m no idealistic I’m a realist and LSU winning makes me happy.

I don't want him, he is a complainer and is a bad locker room guy. Having him on the team pulls other players down.

Do you know anything about what kind of locker room guy he is?

I doubt he wants you either.
The players and coaches voted to give him a chance.
Arik has the ball. Lets see if score.

See I can say "I heard from multiple good sauces that he WON'T be back." and I'd have just as much credibility as op.

All I care about is does he want to be here and do the players want him back. Everything else is idiots making noise for the sake of making noise.
Wish you all the best young man. Geaux Tigers!

who cares, he is unreliable

Definition of unreliable?
First game of the season, last year. First college game ever for Arik.
Brennan goes back to pass in the red zone. Protection collapses. As Brennan goes down, in desperation, he throws towards a gold jersey. The pass is off target toward the back of the endzone. Then a long armed #2 goes up above everyone and catches the ball. TD.
Very reliable would be more accurate.

quote:he was an elite recruit who voluntarily chose to play football at an elite football school, in the top conference in the nation. Plays in front of 100k live, and millions on TV. He knew he would be living in a fishbowl.
I love when our fans tar and feather an 18-year-old trying to figure his life out who coincidentally looks like he was built out of a football lab.
This life he chose comes with high pressure and expectations. And he quit before the season was over, and then apparently flirted with going to Florida.
Sorry, but appropriate commentary and criticism is absolutely warranted in this situation.
If he can't handle that, then god help him if he gets to the NFL.

Gilbert is still one of the the most physically imposing players coming out of high school who were SEC ready as freshmen I can recall.
Julio Jones, Devin White and Laron Landry are a few others I can recall.
LSU has on paper a solid offensive team with experience on the o-line, good depth at qb, a few quality running backs some talented wide outs and with Gilbert back, an NFL quality tight end.
If Gilbert comes back healthy, in shape and with his head screwed on right he could add a win to our schedule somewhere. And he could play himself into making a lot of money in the NFL.
He has red flag now with the mystery of why he left and came back. He has plenty of time to play is way out of that red flag and shoot up the draft boards.
Gilbert showed promise as a freshman, he might have really excelled had the offense had more stability. I hope the rumors of his return are true.
