Argument for an 8 Team Playoff

Anyone arguing for an 8 team playoff should be watching the Oregon and Wisconsin game. There is ZERO need for an added round of the playoffs.
Teams 5-8 should not be included in the playoffs. It would be a waste of time.

Dumb argument.
If you go undefeated, you should be guaranteed a chance to win a NC. That's not the case currently.

Hardly a reason to have 4. Just take 3, when necessary, and have a bye for #1. Otherwise, just have 1 and 2 play.

Even the 4 team playoff has been a joke.
Should just be top 3. 2 and 3 battle to face #1 who gets a bye.
That way Oklahoma doesn't have to get their shite pushed in every year in the semifinal.

There are obviously five P5 teams plus Notre Dame. The odds are slim to none that more than four could go undefeated.

The playoff system is good for finding out who the best teams are, but it has essentially killed any interest in any bowl besides the CFP.

I will never understand this argument. People watch the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament every year. There are blowouts...close games...all sorts of things. People still watch.
The reason for an 8 team playoff is EQUITY. Every major conference gets its champion in. There is still room for great teams from great conferences to get a second team in. Notre Dame can still get in. A group of 5 team can have its shot.
This equity and expansion is good for the sport. It helps spread the talent out more because more teams have a "shot".
Blowouts happen in bowl games now. Upsets WILL happen. UT just blew out Utah.
Yes...1 vs 8 and 2 vs 7 will likely suck. 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 could be great games every year though.
