1) Our DBs vs their WRs. Bama hasnt had to throw yet, but when they do, its not great. Hurts was something like 4-18 on 20+ yard throws? Gotta pick some balls off.

2) Our WRs vs Their DBs. You know, if our O line managed to give Etling some time... We could throw on them. We NEED to launch deep balls. Because if we do we will get points.

What? We were ran off the field in Bryant Denny two years ago. Every time we get them in DV it is much closer. Blown out in 13 too.

I agree with 1 but not 2. Our receivers haven’t been impressive outside of jet sweeps. Routes haven’t been great and lots of drops.

Their DBs will be all over our guys.

Our DBs vs their WRs is literally the only position battle on the field where they aren’t far and away superior.

No, because if he tries to launch balls he will underthrow every time which will lead to multiple turnovers. What we need are slants, screens, and wheel routes. And lots of them.

The O-line play has been decent. Etling just has no pocket awaresness and runs as opposed to stepping up and throwing.
Saban saw what he has on the bench in Tua and I wouldn't be shocked if this is the game he starts getting him more playing time to eventually transition him into starter. He knows they will have to make some plays in the passing game.

I'm not sold on anyone of our DBs 1 on 1 with Ridley.

Not sure we have an advantage with our WRs either

O line has been decent when run blocking. Pass protection has been sketchy at best.

Our tailgates and food are vastly superior to theirs.
That’s all I got.

I think Greedy can cover him. Sure Ridley will get his catches but I don’t think he would just flat beat Williams with any consistency

Ok... let me ask you this. Where were we the last time we beat them?

I think our DBs done an excellent job against a better qb with better wr’s than Ridley and Hurts.

This ain't the year boys. Must pass to best Bama. Oline can't pass block, Etling scrambling, don't have a short passing game and receivers can't get open. Recipe for scoring less than 20 which won't do it. We will have to win the turnover battle significantly and turn those into 7 to have a chance. Being a bit less predictable with play calling is the only advantage we have over the past few meetings.

The key to winning this game is to clearly prevent JH from gaining yards out of the pocket. If he’s allowed to do that, they sustain drives and they are converting on 3rd down. Along with their defense, That’s how Bama beats opponents.

I’ll agree with #1 but #2 is a biased delusion.
