If the transfer portal was available back in the early 2000s, Flynn might not have stuck around.

That’s my point though - the mindset needs to be that the portal is a distraction and grass-is-greener siren’s song to be ignored. Look at the greatness that came from Flynn sticking it out.

Which is exactly what he didnt do this season. Nuss should have been starter. Any idiot could see how obviously better Nuss is.

Yes, a player with 5 INTs in 127 career attempts is obviously better than the player who had 3 in 371 attempts this year.

No. I think JD will go pro this spring, Nuss will start next year and ball out, get drafted in 24, and Walker starts his junior or redshirt sophomore year. I think our days of having QB's transfer are over. They hopefully realize they're at a program that's setting itself up for an alignment dynasty.

Nuss ain't going pro after 1 season. With 2 years of eligibility left.

Yeah it's totally inconceivable he'd make a big jump and have a day 1 or 2 draft grade. JD is rated by Kiper as the 5th best qb available, albeit in a weak qb year. You really don't think it's possible Nuss could get that high or higher of a draft grade if he starts next year and plays his arse off? He absolutely could. He has a ton of potential. All 3 of them do. It's a great problem to have.

Daniels isn't in Walker's way, if anything he buys Walker another year of development. Daniels starts next year, Walker is ready to take over as a redshirt soph.

How long are we going to keep this guy in a glass box above the refrigerator for? First he just needed a redshirt year to add size and learn the playbook, now he needs more time to develop in the system? When will he be ready to compete? 2 weeks ago A&M lit us up with a true freshman at QB. Georgia started both Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm as true freshmen

I agree, I think if Nuss is named the starter in 2023 and has a great year, he’ll most likely return versus just leaving LSU for the NFL after starting just 1 season.

That’s a big reason why it was so stupid not to start him this year. He could have lit it up this year and next, then Howard takes over for 23 and 24. Bringing in the transfer just a screwed up the timing.

Elaborate.

Nuss 22 and 23; Walker 24 and 25.

When it comes to that position O left us with elite guys for 4 years.

Does it matter? Your mind is already made up.

I know O left a lot of holes in the roster; just saying QB wasn’t one of them.

I think so. People are wildly over eating Nuss based of one half of a game LSU had no chance of winning

Or Daniels can just start in 22 and 23, then make way for Walker on the same timeline.
