Are you a man or a box of crayons?

As the great philosopher Fred Sanford once asked his son, Lamont, I will also ask every LSU "fan" who beats up our coaches and young athletes playing for LSU:

ARE YOU A MAN OR A BOX OF CRAYONS?

Does anyone who beats up our coaches or players have any belief that beating them up helps LSU?

How many of such "fans" have ever coached anything other than their children at the playground or in the back yard? How many of them have ever played any sport not connected to a digital box?

There are young recruits, athletes, coaches and their loved ones who read your pathetic posts. Don't you think that they may ask: "why in the hell would I want to coach or play before these morons?"

You're either an LSU supporter or that which is held by an athletic supporter.

Are you in Tiger Stadium after the third quarter no matter the score?

Recruits are and, believe me, they and their parents are there and they see the empty seats.

Do you stay in the PMAC when our Tigers are down by 15?

If you did over the years you saw....and will see some... great effort.

Did you send letters of support to Coach O and the players after the Notre Dame loss? Will you send a letter of support to Coach PM tomorrow?

What, your life is too important to help someone when they're down?

Or, are you just so smart that you know more about football than Coach O and more about pitching than Coach PM, men who do nothing but express THEIR LOVE FOR LSU AND LOUISIANA.?

If you are, just send your resume to all the AD's in America.....I'm sure they'll see your GREATNESS and hire you.

Coach O may not longer be with us in a couple of seasons, but it's not because he isn't trying or doesn't love LSU and LOUISIANA.

While you're on your computer whining about Coach O's inability to get some 19 year old 5 star who'll "spend my next 3 years playing football before I bring my greatness to the NFL" Coach O is sitting down with recruits and their loved ones telling them how he'll support them through thick and thin. He's with his present players trying to be their fathers away from home. He's with his coaches and staff trying to better their and their families' lives. Have you ever heard Coach O say anything derogatory of anyone?

Wherever you are in your point in your life, if you're a student, a salesperson, a doctor, a lawyer, a boss or worker I ask you this simple question.

How would you like it if every time you didn't get a A on a test, didn't close out a big sale, failed to win a case, couldn't heal an ill person, failed to have better revenue month than the previous or just got laid off that your 'friends and supporters" would go online and bash you?

Either your a supporter of LSU or not.......or maybe just a box of crayons.

Not a box of crayons.....unless they're only Purple and Gold

Nope. And it’s insulting to them that you think they’re weak enough to care about a stupid message board.

Geez, just how big of a pussy are you and more importantly how big of a pussy do you think O and PM are? I sure bet they love you coddling them so much.

Actually several times. Remember, “we don’t have a kicker right now.” Sure our two young kickers loved hearing that from their “father away from home.”

This was never supposed to be about “trying” dumbass. You don’t take a chance with something you love on someone who quit on the team before and used people to back stab his boss. I can assure Miles loved LSU more than ZERO. (And Miles needed to be fired since 2009).

I give 2 shits about crayons and your stupid arse opinion.

I suggest you support LSU as Long and with as much money as I have, then come talk to me.

Tell me superfan, why have you waited 10 years to defend players and coaches on this board? Guess you don’t really care that much.

This - think the posts answer the question.

Thanks for the change of pace from the usual bs we have seen lately.

Since you responded to me, and not the OP, I’m happy to say “you’re welcome.”

I think a lot of posters on this site have the IQ of a box of crayons. Does that count?

I think my IQ is at least as good as the 64 box of crayons with the built in sharpener in the back....

It’s funny how so many of you act like our coaches and players are fragile little flowers. Says a lot to me about what kind of a “man “ you are.
Why does being disappointed with getting skull drug by Notre Dame all weekend at home or losing to Troy in football, or making a lazy hire by our AD mean that we don’t love LSU?
Lsu athletics is big business and the expectations are always high. It just doesn’t make sense to me why voicing our displeasure means anything other than that?

Have an upvote sir! Great post!

I do agree with most of what you said! We need to be more positive as fans! It’s really sad how much the fan base has changed in the last few years!

It should not be blind faith though, there doesn’t seem to be a level of accountability and unwavering drive to win anymore with the athletic program. I do believe it all starts at the top and Joe Alleva is the problem. It has been very different since Skip left.

I do think O deserves a chance, but with a short leash. Paul is a great coach, this may be a retooling year for them. Will Wade will probably go down as the only decent hire Joe Alleva made.

Only time will tell! Geaux Tigers!

You nailed it. Not preachy or self righteous like OP, just a call for more positivity while leaving some room for objective criticism. Thank you. I wish more posters would take this approach and not just “our fans suck.”

When I think about our Head Football Coach, AD, and the LSU BOS, I see red. It's all pretty black and white -
these guys need to go. When I think about how things have gone since 2011 and the prospect for improvement, it makes me blue.

Thanks Nix! Very kind!

It just seems to me that we forget there can be middle ground anymore. You’re either pro this or anti that. Society man! It sucks, because you can be both. No preaching, promise.

We are so lucky to be fans/alumni of what I think is the BEST university in this great country. Let’s have high expectations but also be realistic. Find where the problems are and fix them.

Geaux Tigers!

The OP must have recently seen the Sanford and Son episode in which Lamont gets a traffic ticket in a white neighborhood and didn't think it was worth trying to contest it though he felt he had done the right thing (i.e. run through a red light to avoid an accident). Fred wants him to fight the ticket and said something pretty close to this:

"You're a black man who gets a ticket from a policeman in a blue uniform in a white neighborhood, and it makes you so mad you see red. But you're too yellow to fight it. Now what are you, a man or a box of crayons?"

The ensuing court room scene where Lamont goes to fight the ticket is one of the funniest in the history of television.
