The secondary coach is young. That’s for dang sure. Can’t be worse than Pelini though.
Young or not I bet he is going be an improvement. Once again I am going to give Corey Raymond credit for the inability for DBs to know where to line up or who their man was.
Raymond had been here for years and as soon as Aranda left LSU Raymond was exposed. The DBs were his responsibility and why so many on here want to lay all the blame on Pelini when LSU’s DBs struggled in both 2020 and the following year after Pelini was gone.
In recruiting, Corey Raymond and ULL Billy couldn’t combine and sign Citizen who ended up at Miami. The great recruiting duo signed no major recruit from Louisiana and this was when BK had only been at LSU for 5-6 weeks and had a partial staff. Corey Raymond was vastly overrated as a Recruiter and a coach.

Just posting so I can find this thread after the D gives up its first 400 yard game (and still wins). Y’all will want to run his arse out of town as quickly as you can

That isn't exactly saying a lot...

I’m excited because Kelly has always chosen good DCs.
That's mostly true.
His first, Bob Diaco, was weird in the extreme but effective.
His last three are all now HC's at the P5 level at high academic schools (ND, Vandy and Duke).
The less said about Brian van Gorder, however, the better. That is the one name you need to say to an ND fan if you want them to spontaneously combust with rage and/or frustration. Appointing him was BK's second biggest mistake. Taking so long to fire him was his biggest.
It was a symptom of Kelly's second biggest flaw, being too loyal to guys he had coached with previously who couldn't hack it at the level ND aspired to. It was something he learned from/was forced to learn from by ND AD, Jack Swarbrick and the results paid big dividends in his final five seasons in South Bend.
