It really all seemed to click for Mettenberger in the 2012 Alabama game (which unfortunately was lost due to John Chavis) which technically was in his second year as he completed 8 of 11 passes in 2011. That said, he was better in 2013 (his second year starting) than in 2012....

Tyrann Matthieu would be my favorite player overall. He was a game changer that did everything for the tigers and was single-handedly able to change games. Won’t say that I won’t gripe, but the pac-10 has had some of the seemingly most incompetent officiating of college games that I’ve seen; granted, this is probably more applicable to (what I’ve seen of their crews in) football as I haven’t watched as many baseball games with their crews officiating. ...
