Honestly...I would consider those solid face shields as a health hazard to the players.

The NFL helmet shield is a compromise, and I dont think there would be nearly as much fogging up.

The college shield a clear example of going overboard toward one risk while creating another.

I feel like if you go into the game, supposedly tested and checked for good health, (coaches, staff, and players) why would you need these?

After that Fonua video, I have no idea how people breathing hard in the heat for hours, are going to be able to deal with what is essentially a bag over their face.

Are all of our opponents wearing them?

I’m sure everyone will test them

Maybe they’ll just wear them at practice or something

People are jumping to conclusions

Those shields are going to fog like crazy in the LA humidity. If they even make it to the game, watch them getting ripped off on the sideline.

The selfishness is just staggering.

This will ruin MY football experience.

Y'all act like there are two outcomes--life and death. Nobody knows long-term effects and repercussions. Of course, what do I know? I didn't graduate from Facebook Medical School.

HOW DARE THEY do something to keep the kids from getting sick.

Dude they are tested before they enter the field. If you test negative you don’t have the virus.

How can you spread the virus if you don’t have it?

No but you cant block with touching and no tackle. If you get within the 6 ft Social distancing the player is down.

I get all of that and agree, but much if not most of the public thinks what the news media tells them, which is crap info

No it doesn’t. It gives a perception of hindered breathing but the actually oxygen levels in the blood are unaffected. It’s a mental thing not a physical one. Just like sticking your head under the cover makes you perceive it is harder to breath but the reality is, you are still getting the same amount of oxygen

Irrelevant.

They still have the potential to spread it to people who are more susceptible to death from the virus.

Thank you.

Do you honestly believe they will approve these helmets without rigorously testing the breathability and fog-up potential before rolling them out?

You’re welcome.

If they test them prior to the game, let them play.

How? They are tested before each game.

ALL the administrators who came up with the helmet masks should be required to work out in them, in the hot Sun, for at least 10 2-hour sessions.

Someone's gonna die of heat exhaustion wearing that ridiculous space-helmet. Dumb as dirt.

Have you ever seen a college offensive lineman. They are definitely obese which is a huge risk factor
