My 10 year old son is really into sports. I’m trying to get him to read more, and I think he would be more likely to read a print magazine than something online. I know Sports Illustrated used to be really good decades ago, but I’m not sure what’s good these days. The Athletic? I have no idea if they offer print. Any ideas?

He likes LSU, but I think he would like something that covered more sports. He mostly likes baseball and football (college and NFL).

Not offered in print from what I can tell. If it’s online, he’ll just act like he’s reading but watch sports videos on YouTube instead.

As in a monthly magazine? I know Athlon’s CFB preview is deep. Not sure which other magazines they do

I looked at that online, but it covered way too much kid stuff and quasi-political stuff. He just wants the sports. I think he’s capable of reading an adult-level magazine if he likes the articles.

I still buy and read the Athlon season preview magazines for college football and NFL. I've also bought their college basketball and MLB magazines in the past too. Also, if he's 10 you could get him an SI Kids magazine subscription

Collegiate Baseball puts out a rag that is nothing short of incredible. It’s formatted more like a newspaper than a magazine and, of course, is about College Baseball.

For the Majors, Baseball Digest is excellent.

The most overused label on earth. How is going digital being "woke"?

SI and SI for kids was my son's favorite mags growing up. I also got him the Athlon and Lindy's sec preview mags for football and basketball.

You should try to get him collecting cards as well. It's something we were able to enjoy together.

Sports Illustrated has gone woke.

Don't buy their magazines or click on their links.

Please explain how it's gone woke. And be specific if possible.
