The amount of seats it holds, or the dimensions of the playing field? Box holds way more seats than they do, and down both lines is further by 10 feet in Hattiesburg.

About 1/2 the size of the box.

Seems like it’s a bigger park, but the ball may fly better out of there. It’s a little bit hilly in Mississippi, so that might contribute. I don’t really know if it’s a hitters park or a pitchers park.

The few times we played there for summer ball tournaments the ball would fly out of that place.

Why are baseball fields allowed to be different dimensions?

It’s a good balance, but the ball takes off in summer there, just like at the Box. I went yard on that field, which means the whole LSU roster won’t have a problem lol.

All I know is that everyone prefers a smaller box.

Park plays small...especially this time of year with southerly breeze blowing right to left field.

this is great and all but the power alleys are what really matter

The park factor is 78 fwiw. Meaning its the most pitcher friendly park of all the regionals. 22% less runs than average

This is surprising. It has to be influenced by the fact that USM’s team ERA is 2nd in the country. They’ve allowed 31 HRs in 524 innings.
I’ve watched hundreds of games at Pete Taylor Park. It is certainly not pitcher friendly this time of year. South wind is prevailing and blows out to left center field. We’ll see some HRs this weekend.
Alleys are 365. It’s almost symmetrical in the outfield. Right center gets a little shorter quicker than left center as you move away from CF into the alleys.
