There is no next level. It’s softball.

And what if that new coach doesn’t fill even Beth’s shoes?

Then you fire them and get another. What kind of question is this? Is a super regional appearance so great that you’re afraid to look for something better? Les Miles and Mark Richt had more success than Beth and both schools fired them and are much better off for it

Louisiana does not produce a lot of softball talent. In the elite travel tournaments our state fields zero teams. Yet we field a top-20 team every year. To me, our softball team over-achieves every year.

LSU's softball team has six players from Louisiana. The rest are a good spread of the rest of the country.

For comparison, UL's softball team only has four players from Louisiana. The majority are from Texas.

I'm curious how many of these kids go back home after graduation, or do they marry/career in Louisiana.

Is that true? Thats a massive salary for a sport that makes no money

No. No, we are not. We haven't been to the WCWS since 2017.

Beth has no SEC regular season titles or SEC tournament titles in her 14 years at LSU.

In the time that Beth has been at LSU, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee have all played for national titles in softball, with Bama and Florida winning it all. Texas and OU are both softball powers and are joining the SEC next year. The road to OKC will only get tougher for us.

We see the exact same issues year after year. The program has stagnated under Torina. That's not hard to see.

With the new rule that the school can pay the players, I rather take that money and focus it on the football and baseball program (specifically football really). That is where we make our money to support other minor programs like softball.

Schools have to essentially have the equal amount of girls and guys sports, so the cuts will have to start coming up from the bottom of the list. Knocking out 1 of each of the least productive. Don't know where softball falls on the LSU list, but as Sankey said in the game yesterday. They'll have to find about 20ish mil to cut.

Way to go fans of "schools need to pay players". Can't wait to hear from parents whos kid got affected in some way by these changes, and they try to play off the "I was all for the changes, but now my kid has no chance of going to my favorite school due to cuts in his sport". We all know the slippery slope victims will be whining.

Gonna fire a coach that went to a game 3 in a super? With another year under contract? Nope. It will happen next season.

Well you’re not invested because not once has Beth been “in it” to win shite. If you are ok with max out at the supers every year for a considerable amount of time then keep Beth. But I thought we were LSU where we strive for championships in any sport.
STOP BEING LOYAL to a coach because you’re loyal to the program. Replacing a coach doesn’t mean the program is a failure. It just means change is needed. Too many fans are stuck in that mindset. Baseball just went through it for a decade with Pawl.

Give softball a fair shake. Most real sport fans have an interest in a lot of different sports.

The purpose of softball is to get enough women on athletic scholarships so that we can have a football team. We need to get half of our football players to identify as women so we can rid ourselves of this Title 9 BS.

People wouldn’t be so angry if Beth Torina stopped refusing to make changes within the program. The program doesn’t overachieve by any means. We have top 5 facilities and a top 10 budget, Beth makes a lot to never get to OKC.

Frankly my biggest issue is Howard Dobson far and away. We have had some elite pitching over the years that always fell short to weak hitting.
