One more thing get that man called Marcel Brooks on the field more. Looks like he was shot out of a cannon a few times.

Also agree with you on that. He looked pretty good out there. Maybe a couple freshman mistakes but overall he looked ready and wasn't daunted by the size of the game.

That's what you want.

Hope you've been doing well!

Aranda isn't one of the best defensive coaches anymore.

Explain Vandy, or Texas or Florida>

We won those games in spite of our pathetic defense.

If Aranda want's to keep his job, he needs to become much more aggressive and start attacking offenses instead of being reactive only.

My others neighbors were a little bitter when I saw them this morning his comment was this we hung with you guys. My response yeah I thought your defense would be much better

I even gave his two kids decked out in full gator attire a little sorry for your luck you little frickers

Just can’t let any QB settle in and be comfortable, why wait till your down, or getting your arse killed in zone, to man up, and throw in some blitz packages. The crowd gets so fired up when we attack and dictate the game, and offense they have to throw at us...which was what we heard all Summer, that we’ll dictate on Defense, well we have, just not in good way....until we have no choice, seems like....

Ahh, how times have changed. Coach O was a dumbass shrimp boat captain, and Aranda was gonna get stolen from us. We needed to promote Aranda to HC ASAP.

Truth, looking back, still think Aranda is good, and fixing Elite Dline depth, which is being addressed by O, will help, everywhere on D. Just don’t know what Aranda is thinking, or overthinking. Maybe worried about Depth, and playing prevent zone won’t tire them out, but man up, and blitzing seems to be the ticket, even when we get burned by it a few times, our teams still feeds off attacking....

He made halftime adjustments

We actually don't know how it works..

It is conceivable that the coordinators work out their game plan, then the HC demands the change (adjustment)

Most HC's not just head pieces are voicing their opinions ...

LSU says they work as a group ( but assuming that is strictly in making the gameplan .. not in-game ) ...

How do we know that Aranda made the adjustments strictly on his own accord??

we don't..

but we have seen way too many 3rd down conversions this year conversely

THIRD DOWN is where a DC truly shows their worth ....

adn the second half, let us remember was not absent two long drives but ended in a 3rd and inches int and a stop at the 1 .... that is really really really close to +14

I agree with this. I have been saying this for a long time. To all the Aranda apologists....if he's so damn smart, why wait to the third quarter of each game to show us your "brilliance?"

aranda defense is really similar to chavis, unfortunately. I like aranda, but his D is porous

As I mentioned in another thread yesterday, we played a Dan Mullen led offense. He is an excellent play designer and caller. If there is a mismatch to be found, he will find it and exploit it until it's stopped. Mullen had a 6'-6" tight end that was eating the defense up until Aranda found o way to stop it.

Yep. The offense play calling by Florida was totally different on the first drive. Nothing but man beaters with back shoulder throws all the way down the field. We brought pressure but was picked up. Even the next drive we blitzed and was beat by the screen. Mullen figures we would bring pressure more in the second half. It’s not like blitzing doesn’t have its flaws also.

I just didn’t understand the strategy in the first half hell Florida
well, I'm not gonna pretend like I know what the strategy was... BUT, one thing that did work is the UF couldn't establish the run game. They had a couple of good runs, but nothing, not even close, consistent enough to sustain drives.

They had to do it through the air. Because of excellent WRs (3rd best in the SEC?) and a QB all underestimated that worked.

I feel like the priority was to stop the run, and then hope Death Valley and Trask would make mistakes in the air. First part happened, 2nd part did not.

The whole bunch of naysayers will revert to moostate sucked.

I was concerned with the 3 man rush but reviewing the plays made you could see some breakdowns in personnel. I think the players can rectify that aspect.
