Coach Aranda said in the article that "that 4t quarter of the A&M game was one of his biggest disappointments". So no doubt the wheels started turning in The Professor's head. But he said in his initial PC interview last Jan. that it would take more than one season to fully implement his entire defensive scheme.

Everyone was disappointed in the LSU 4th quarter D versus aTm - in my opinion, it could have been a result of the lack of rest between the FL and aTm game, plus the loss of inside depth with Beckwith out.

Knowing we played a "basic" defense this year is crazy to think what we will do under his actual scheme.

Wasn't that part of the success though this year? Didn't players say they loved the simplicity?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Dude's only cut the patient open and examined the internal problems. Now it's time to do some surgery!

I see, by him announcing the changes now, that he has supreme confidence in his plan. I cannot wait to see this roll out. I hope these guys come out on fire and not let a little slip here and there deject them - no quit.

Or a lack of rest between LSU scoring drives.

Also, once LSU got it's lead up to 21 VS the aggies the LSU "D" never took the field with lower than a 21 point advantage.

We shut out Bama all the way into half way of the 4th quarter playing nothing more than a basic defense.

I have been saying this. What we've seen this season is only a taste of what's to come. What little he's shown is awesome. Next year will be special for the D.

That dip chit Tepper is not even close to Les. He is closer to the two headed monster Miles put in place for the 2008 season.

Wow. If Aranda has been using just his "basic" package all season then what in the hell are we going to see going forward? What is he about to come up with? Maybe some 3-3-5 looks? 4-4? 1-4-6? 0-6-5? Something with lasers? A formation using an actual Tiger? Jet packs?

Me too! People are infatuated with offensive guys when it comes to HC but historically the best Head Coaches come from the defensive side of the ball.

Different style of offense. The key is for the defense to be adaptable.
