Hell no. Joe Burrow was the glue; the heart and soul; the primary motivator and leader of a committed group of players with one fricking goal.

True story. If Aranda's defense didn't hold the ship together in 2016 and 2017, O would have gone 4-8 with his own DC like Pelini those years.

That happens and Joe Burrow doesn't exist at LSU

I don’t think we are a dumpster fire program. A year ago, we all expected the offensive core to be Brennan, Edwards-Helaire, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall and probably Moss. We just played Alabama with Finley, Davis-Price, Boutte, Moore, Jenkins and Gilbert. Great prospects, but aside from maybe Gilbert, that is literally what you planned to be your 2nd team in 2020. It’s not as dramatic, but a similar story on defense. Chaisson was gone if he played a full year, but Queen, Phillips, Shelvin and Vincent would have made a difference.

We are going to finish with 3 wins, a coach with nudes leaked on the internet, Title IX investigation, self reduction in scholarships, returning upperclassman opting out left and right, a self imposed bowl ban, an AD not on speaking terms with the head coach.

My friend if that doesn't sound like dumpster fire then I've got some swamp land to sell you.

Are you talking about the same Dave Aranda who is taking the Baylor program down the tubes at 2-6!!! Bring him back! Replace Coach O with Aranda! Ridiculous!

He’s more like the Elmer’s stick glue that doesn’t work great. I’m not saying Pelini is better but everyone is forgetting about the Aranda headaches. Aranda’s defenses got statically worse every year he was here.

No one ever claimed he was a good head coach. Just that he was a major part of the stability here. Baylor is also not LSU.

9-4 in 2017 > 3-7 this year

Connecting with the players and organizing the defensive staff were Dave's biggest weaknesses.

This is such a lame criticism just because the guy didn't have a rah rah demeanor and was more cerebral. Thank God we have two screaming idiots now instead!

Joe Burrow didn't play defense. What a weird take

My favorite is the rant being convinced Aranda’s schemes were “far too complex for college kids” yet Bo is out here playing street two hand touch defense and they are ACTUALLY lost on the field

Aranda is a dumpster fire of a head coach right now I don’t think he was running anything in our program.

So you think it was Coach O keeping us from imploding in 2017? Why can't he stop it this year?

Could be Aranda or one of the 30 players we lost.

Atlanta sports radio echoed the same sentiments. That he is the most significant coaching loss from 2019

Different kids and different circumstances. No leaders on this team. Plenty of guys wanting to play leader, but no one actually backing it up with play on the field. Those guys have been quiet. No Delpit, no Joe, no Devin White.

Here's another aspect you didn't mention. Imagine your primary teacher/leader/boss changing from a friendly, philosopher almost Yoda-like type to an assholish, meathead, jump down your throat if you mess up type. That type of switch almost never ends up well in education, sports or the workforce.

It’s way too early to assess Aranda at Baylor.

We should all be rooting for his success at Baylor, because at a minimum it gives us another potential option down the road in the event we are looking for a HC.

And while O still has my support, it is inevitable that we will be looking for a new HC at some point. Whether it’s 2 years from now, 5 years from now, or 10+ years from now, there will inevitably come a time when we’ll be looking again, and more options - especially options with ties to us and the state - are a good thing.

It was a veteran team that held it together.
Most of the glue is in the NFL or opted out for various reasons.
Imagine, take away QB,Jones, WR, Smith, the Center,Right Guard, Right tackle, Running back and Tight End from Alabama, what would the score have been?
We were gutted and no opportunity to reload and you guys are pointing fingers. You are pitiful.
How is "The Glue" holding Baylor together. Baylor had a good team last year as well. Covid probably affected them as also. New Coach, Aranda, new system and no Spring Practice to make the changes necessary for Aranda to install and coach his system.
Fire Aranda!
