I listened to his presser, but his answer to the characteristic of his style at the beginning was the thesis for the rest of his comments. Don't think I've ever been more excited about a hire of any kind in any sport I have ever followed.

I just want to see the defense run around like savages and terrorize the offense

I think Aranda's defense will make our offense better.

He was a total boss during that presser. Already sending a message

I was kind of disappointed that he didn't comment on how great the fans are, how much his family is looking forward to living in BR, how great the food is, how much he loves the baseball team, etc. Nobody wants to hear this football shite, just how we're the bestest program ever!!

When you look at the DL with Arden Key and Davon Godchaux and the DBs with Adams, Toliver, and Jackson, and the LBs that we're bringing in this class, it's hard not to get excited with what Aranda is selling.

This is what I'm hoping for.

Also loved that when they asked what size of linebacker he wanted he responded something like " instinctive strong playmaker "

It's very not to be excited. The guy is a star in the making.

Best hire we've made in a long, long time.

I hope that he's been hired as a unofficial and unspoken coach in waiting, letting Miles run the show until he blows it out next year with a championship, or rides off into the sunset.

I've never been more excited for a coaching hire since I've been an LSU fan. I can't quite figure out why, but this guy is going to be something special to the program. I can feel it.

My biggest fear is that the defense will allow Les to run the same ole Offense. I hope I'm wrong.

There was a thread prior to his hire that asked what you want from next years team and my answer was that I would like to sit back and relax knowing that we have the lead and the opposition has the last possession.

Im hoping it comes true.

I realize that he comes highly recommended but I thought his presser was a bit of a letdown. I'd expect a top guy to be much more specific about what he wants to do - defensive coordinators have been talking about being aggressive for literally decades. Did anyone expect him to talk about how he wants to sit back and wait for the offense to decide what to do?

If he's already studied film he should have very concrete ideas about what he wants from his players, but perhaps that is reserved for less public discussions with large donors. I'll give him benefit of the doubt as it were, I just thought it was a very generic presser.

I've been labeled a negatiger, but I have nothing but good things to say about this. I'm very pleased with Miles and Alleva for this hire.

I'm really excited about seeing Aranda work with the type of talent we have and are recruiting.

I know he said he isn't sure yet but I hope he coaches from the sideline here as well. Get in the defense's ear. With him and O on the sideline, our defense is going to be sick!

Dang man, give him a chance to watch some more film, evaluate the personnel, and see if there are any juniors leaving. It's just a press conference, not a strategy session.
