I would say that they are a top 50 team in the bowl subdivision. They finished 44 last year in the Sagarin poll. Probably pretty close to that this year. The point being, they are better than a lot of bowl subdivision teams.

Then they should go ahead and make the leap.

Then what? Is 2011 the year App. State decides it doesn't ever want to win another championship?

Why is that? Would like to see you guys jump up. I think you would fare better than Marshall and would like to see somebody start owning WVU in their own back yard.

I wish it would be a different process. 120 teams is enough. There are already too many bowls. I wish that if Appy State joined, then someone else would get kicked out. Just my opinion.

I have a feeling that there are a lot of teams that don't "comply" with the rules set forth by the NCAA to be Div 1-A. These teams should be demoted back to 1-AA.

I'd trade App for Duke. Sounds reasonable geographically.

Would anyone be surprised to know that, based on last year's final Sagarin Poll, there are 21 I-AA teams ranked in the top 120? Appy State is the highest at #44.

Basketball is all one "division". There is no I-AA in basketball.

Are you sure about this? What about the NAIA?

Yes, you are right. But what I meant is the teams that are in I-AA in football, SE LA, Southern, Grambling, James Madison, etc. are all in the same "Division" as we are in basketball. Yes, I acknowledge that there is a MUCH smaller division that exists. But my point was if Duke went down to I-AA in football they would still compete at the same level they are in now in basketball. Same # of schollys.

You are correct. Case in point, Davidson College. Remember those guys from March?
