We apologize for not being able to get you the freakin ball but 2-3 times a damn game when you are one of the only people on the field that can make the difference in a game. Hopefully you'll at least get one touch in the bowl game unlike last year!!

Are you an LSU coach?

If so, why wasnt team fired up to play sat? Thanks, coach.

If not a coach, WTF?

The QB practically kills him by throwing at his feet or over his head. It's a very easy pass to complete. No idea why this is so tough.

He convinced himself, or they convinced him to move to WR. Hes not a WR. Might have been better off at QB, we will never know.

I don't know if he was overhyped coming out of high school but 2 years in I'm convinced he's not going to be the all world guy that some predicted. He's fast but he sure lacks size. The league is full of big guys that can run too.

He's a good football player but he could never dominate in college like he did in high school.

he averages like 12 ypc so we hand it off to him like 3 times every 2 games...

Um, no we don't. Our offense actually began to move the ball when we stopped trying to force-feed it to Shep. Did you see him get caught from behind vs. Bama? He has no moves and is simply a down-hill runner. See also Trindon Holiday.

Seems LSU recruits a lot of players that were overhyped in high school. I have no doubt Shepard would be an impact player in another offense.

We stopped giving it to Shepard because we had ONE play designed for him. ONE. And it was telegraphed. When you are in an offense that has one play designed for you, and it's telegraphed, you are pretty much SOL

LSU (under Crowton) where great offensive players go to die.

The thing that really surprises me the most is that we didn't see the bubble screen this year with Shep. That used to be LSU's bread & butter. Figured we'd see a heavy dose of that this year.......oh well.

Some of the blame needs to go to Shep himself. He really needs to work on his route running and his hands. That being said he'll be a fine wr with time. Remember how bad Lafell looked as a sophomore wr? He made big time improvements and I expect Shep to do the same.

You're talking about a guy who gets arm tackled by DB's and can't make a defender miss. Run all 60 plays to him and that won't change. If you have to count on getting a guy in position to run untouched to the endzone on every play, that won't happen. Oh, and he has not proven to be a reliable receiver (hands).

Actually we did, only with Lee at QB though. Shepard was very consistent and got between 5 and 10 yards the 3 times we ran it. Like all other plays that were effective, it was scrapped from the playbook.

Lafell is a bad comparison. Yes he improved but he always had the body to play in this league. I just think Shepard, while a good football player, is limited physically. He has that limitation on top of his poor route running and questionable hands. Let me be clear, he's no scrub, but he will never be the dominating player some foresaw (heisman and all that kind of stuff) not in this offense or any other.

He is a coach...just not for LSU. And he actually knows what he's talking about....most of the time.
