Why take a drastic pay cut (when you are the highest paid assistant coach in the country) to Get all the responsibility and headache at a mountain west school that won’t have the recruiting base or ability, nor the resources to attain anything other than mediocrity?

Where is it said he would take a drastic pay cut?

There would be a very small group of people at LSU who would know what they are. Leaks useually don’t come from the top.

This would be like leaving a CFO position at a Fortune 500 company to manage a Denny’s

Last coach finished at 600k.

They are UNLV, in the mountain west. They aren’t playing for anything meaningful, ever.

And they are gonna spring almost 5x as much for someone who’s never been a head coach? Who isn’t known for recruiting? In a place he doesn’t have the connections or the recruiting base?

There is frickery at hand

So UNLV, a blip on the radar in CFB, is going to pay 5+x as much as their last HC

Their last coach came from coaching high school...

They didn’t have to pay him $2.75m a year
