Pawl never has won a national championship title except with help from smokes recruits.

And Saban never won a title at LSU without the help of Dinardo's recruits.

If my statement sounds moronic, it's because it is. And so it yours.

One and done with Smoke's players.

I’ve seen this posted several times so I’m sure you wouldn’t have any problems naming all the Smoke players on the 2009 team

I just don’t see it, and national titles are the only measurable for this program. If he can’t do it again, it’s time to look for someone who can and will.

Gilmore & his volunteer hitting coach?

It's hard to say with the freshmen that came in his first year. Like, Dean was a Smoke player, but Smoke recruited him as a pitcher, so for the purposes of this list, I've removed freshmen that came in Mainieri's first year at LSU.

Here is a list of all the players who were on LSU's roster under Smoke that were on the 2009 team:
Buzzy Haydel
Ryan Byrd
Nicholas Pontiff
Louis Coleman
Chris McGhee
Nolan Cain

ETA: Here are the remaining guys from that freshman class if anyone wants to parse over which of them were Smoke guys and which were Mainieri guys:

Jared Mitchell
Sean Ochinko
Ryan Schimpf
Blake Dean
Paul Bertuccini
Kevin Farnsworth

It’s possible, but baseball is the one sport that has so much parity , that the days of domination in Omaha are getting thinner .

Yeah I knew the list. I just wanted him to post it because those arguments are so dumb.

I just had it handy because of some other research I was doing.

But specifically for that question I did put a column on my sheet to indicate if they were brought in by Smoke or Mainieri.

a) We were ranked number 1 based off talent alone.

b) The players who returned and rejected their MLB drafting gave him this unexpectedly talented team.

c) He’s not a good as you CPM fans make him out to be. The LSU baseball program is losing it’s luster and this was suppose to be the year that saved it.

If we had UCSB coach or someone exciting who the players loved, we would be top 5 right now with the exact same players and injuries.

In the same publications that had us ranked number 1, we didn't have a single person on the 3 deep pre-season all America teams, so clearly it was based on something more than talent alone.

This whole statement doesn't make any sense, especially the bolded part. So there is no rebuttal, because I'm not going to twist my brain in a pretzel trying to refute nonsense.

Please point out my posts, since this is in direct response to me, where I've said I'm a fan of his.

Another moronic statement. The luster is what gave us the number one ranking in the pre season, you dolt.

This is just speculation, so whatever.

ETA: And you still never addressed the question as to who gave him that "most talented roster."

Nope.

Continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over and over again.

THIS is where I think he's like Miles.

Can't adjust and now it has cost him several years.

Yes. We have a very good pitching staff. We need to recruit players that can hit the fricking ball. The last game with OM was the exception. In most low scoring games where we lose - we should have more runs.
