absent a tough, unfortunate knee injury, Justin Vincent would have continued with a great career at LSU and possibly beyond....combination of speed and moves.

Pretty petty to slam the MVP of the game for a fumble that he may not have been responsible for.....even if he was responsible, some of the greatest players fumble. Aside from his breakaway run in the opening series, there were no big offensive plays......LSU defense won this game, and yes, it shouldn't have been as close as it was....the late INT by Mauck that OU returned 50+ yards was the biggest game-changer. Otherwise, LSU kicks a FG and puts the game out of reach for OU. OU had -0- offense that night....one of the best defensive performances by any college team I've ever seen.

It wasn't Mauck it was JV. I know we won and all but its the principle of the issue. it ruined the whole beginning of the game for me. I can't watch it.

Maybe you SHOULD watch it, and you'll see it was Mauck who fumbled the center exchange.

for fumbling at the goal line after that long run on the first play against OU in the NC game in 03?

I can't forgive him.

WOW, that is a long time to have anger pent up like that. 1st he didn't fumble, 2nd we won, and 3rd----LET IT GO MAN, you'll go nuts..

Mauck fumbled the snap, dumbass. And then Webster picked off White like three plays (or so) later to set up our first score by Green on an end-around. So it doesn't really matter and it had no affect on the game.

I'm pissed at Justin Vincent for sucking cock every year after his great Freshman season, though.

the only thing that would have been better for me was if we had shut out the greatest offense in college football history.

Made up for Maucks fumble later with a tremendous T/D run right past 3 of OU's 1st-team All-Americans. We had to overcome 2 bad turnovers by Matt that night.

Chit happens in sports, but if you win flush it out of your mind and savor the sweet spoils of success.

FAIL

Russell's fumble was the '06 season. NC game against OK was '03 season.

But yes, the Russell fumble was huge (or Helms, whoever you wanna blame). If that doesn't happen and we score there, it could have changed the whole UF game and eventually led to a NC. We'll never know.

Or the horrible no-T/D call on Hester's run the play before in '06.

Actually, the Hester call was accurate. The bad call was the holding on Big Herm that negated the Buster Davis touchdown on the same drive.

Don't agree because the ball appeared to break the plane before his knee was down but they're still watching the replay of the phantom holding call. Nothing there but a typical Big Herm beat-down block.
