I'm more pissed about him wasting his talent and drinking his way out of the NFL.

Actually, the Hester call was accurate. The bad call was the holding on Big Herm that negated the Buster Davis touchdown on the same drive.

Yep. That call may have cost us the NC in 2006. We would have been up 14 - 0 with about 5 minutes left in the first half. Herm literally shoved a linebacker to the ground and Buster cut back on the block into the endzone. I must have watched that play 15 times the Sunday after. There is no possible way to justify a holding call there. After that, it was all down hill.

dumbest thread evar?

not only did JV not fumble in that situation, LSU doesn't win the NC without his emergence in the 2nd half of the season

Mauck fumbled the snap. Vincent didn't fumble it away.

What is there to forgive? We scored on the next possession after an interception and his run gave us field position.

His TD later in the game was sick--using the ref to block out a defender was beautiful.

No. Considering that he wasn't the one who fumbled the ball.

If I remember correctly, the issue wasn't Hester's knee, but his forearm, which was down before the ball broke the plane. They initially called that play a TD then overturned it after review because the forearm was clearly down before the ball crossed the goaline.

You're right, it was the forearm issue and it was very close. Without the phantom call on Davis' t/d it would be a moot point. Bad calls that change the outcome of a game just never seem to go away.

It wasn't Mauck it was JV. I know we won and all but its the principle of the issue. it ruined the whole beginning of the game for me. I can't watch it.

You cant be too upset , because JV DIDNT fumble. What are you trying to do here?

It was a fumbled exchange. For what it's worth, it was charged to Mauck. Are you pissed at JV's 64 yard run to open the game (and set the tone)? Are you also pissed at his 117 yards on 16 carries? Are you pissed at his scoring one of only two offensive touchdowns in that game? If I were you, I'd get my money back for the game.

The unmitigated gall of a college player getting a MVP trophy, and anchoring the offensive effort in a BCS championship WIN, and not be perfect. The nerve!

Oh my God stop posting in this thread to correct the original moron! It's already been taken care of. Everyone knows it was a fumbled snap that Mauck lost, not JV.

Let. It. Die!!!

But I have to post again here to correct this guy...

This is a common misconception about this play. It would have put us up 14-7 with about 5 minutes left in the first half. For some reason it's been twisted around to where people think it would have put us up 14-0, when it wouldn't have. If LSU scores there, it's just 14-7.

We scored on our second posession indirectly due to Vincent's long run. You are an idiot.

for fumbling at the goal line after that long run on the first play against OU in the NC game in 03?

I can't forgive him.

Yeah, I'm still losing sleep over that one.
