I was in middle school and it was during Tommy Hodson days and went down to an afternoon game against Ole Miss. remember driving down Nicholson from the interstate towards the stadium and there were people in the middle of the road selling old school seat cushions reading “Ole Miss can kiss what sits on this” was a great day and I was hooked. Then went to Nola the next day to watch my cousin play for the LA Rams against the Saints

That could have the Ole Miss game in 1978. LSU beat the Rebs soundly, I think like 31-10 iirc.

‘79 USC game as a 15 year old…older brother took me and a friend. Still the greatest game I’ve ever attended.

Sept. 19, 1970. We lost to A & M 20-18. I was 17 and a freshman. Vietnam was raging and so many were dying every week. Went to the game with my Dad. He talked to me that night about joining the National Guard. I declined. Student deferments were still available, though not for long. So long ago, but that conversation seems like it was yesterday.

But Tommy Casanova and Bert Jones were playing. We ended up ranked 7th.

LSU against Ohio State in 1987 that ended in a 13-13 tie. Great experience for a young kid that fell even more in love with LSU football.

100% 44-3 Miami.

Got straight A's on my report card and Dad got us tickets. Only 1 upper deck. We sat 2nd row from the top. It rained underneath us.

My dad says at halftime I asked if we could cheer for Miami now. He took me to Ruth's Chris before the game. Great memories. I got one of the smaller LSU footballs that you could throw a mile.

I was only like 5.....i've gone back and watched it on youtube....brutal..

Yeah I was only 9 when I was there. I only remembered the end. After I made that post I went look up highlights of the game for nostalgia. I wish I didn't, because I forgot how bad we kicked their arse all game and kept fricking up.

Missed FG off the goalpost
Missed FG off the crossbar
Missed PAT
An interception bounces off our DB's hands and into the Bama WR's for their first TD
Having to settle for a FG at the 3 yard line
Throw an interception at the goal line

Still up 16-7 with 5 minutes left when we blocked their FG. Then the offense can't do anything and has to punt and Bama scores 2 TDs in 2 minutes with that onside kick. Probably a good thing I was just a kid, and the Rant didn't exist yet.

1998. LSU vs Kentucky.

Tim Couch led a game winning drive leading to a last second field goal ripping the heart out of a 6 year old LSUShock.
