Against a bad defense? Not at all.

He's clearly improving; it's just that he only has the potential to be serviceable. I've long been of the opinion hat AJ will come into his own next season, and he'll give us good - not great - college quarterbacking. I've seen steady improvement in AJ all year long.

A little - but we're going to need more improvement than that after a full season of starts.

He's never completed more than 13 or 14 passes in a single game.

I give credit though - short passing looked much better. He's still staring down and had a couple of chucklehead moments in the pocket, but he ran phenomenally well and, generally, made good decisions with the ball. Short passing was improved and that resulted in better stat line for him. The sack was on him, but then again, the pick wasn't (80% on Dural).

And I haven't forgotten this, either.

All of what I said was with a grain of salt - AJ is one game from his junior season at this point and looked better as a true freshman, honestly.

He's nothing more than a backup QB, IMO

Will be glad when Harris decides to grow up

Harris transfers and we have AJ along with

A freshman at QB, a 6'1" 177 lb 2 star QB out of TX
Offers from Arkansas State, UNLV and S.F Austin..............

Entire QB situation borders on comical.

Think we already have one starting for us right now.
Just do not understand the problems Miles constantly has at QB. Simply no excuse.

He was Soooo damn bad to this point, a shred of improvement has everyone believing we are ok with him.

I'm not fooled. He was horribly inaccurate as always.

His running was good, but it was AtM! They are the worst defense in the league. I saw nothing to be excited about.

We were up 20-3 I think. There were a TON of situations to get Harris a series.

Miles saying that shite after the game is almost exact quotes of when jj saga was going on.

We did win. That is always the goal. But that team ATM has is just fricking awful

On some passes, no question. He was behind on that one catch Diarse made. He threw a nice pass for the TD. However, no drops - the receivers caught everything catchable thrown their way. A couple of the misses on the stat line were throwaways.

Sorry, but "horribly inaccurate" is not fair for the game he just played. He was not Danny Wuerffel, no question. But better than AJ of the past few weeks.

This is what we have become??? We have been conditioned to be accepting of horrible qb play and when the qb does the bare minimum not to lose a game against worst defense in the conference we call it improvement?

big difference is that Harris actually does have a lot of upside where as Lee and Jefferson were very limited in ability. Harris will be to good to keep on the bench with a little time in the system.

Worst D in the league last night and we still had trouble throwing the ball. The read option was encouraging though.

He seems like a good kid, but a 66.9 QBR against the worst defense in the league doesn't give me the warm and fuzzes. Glad we at least spread the field and let him run the spread option. Unfortunately, it appears Les took over the play calling in the second half and we shut that down.

And I'm not arguing that we stop the presses and that AJ has turned the corner - he clearly needs a lot more work.

However, he completed passes to 7 different receivers and went 12/21. Now - let's look at the 9 misses - 1 was the INT and most agree that was mainly on Dural quitting on the route at the last second (really after the ball was thrown). At least 1 or 2 of the other 8 were throwaways to avoid the sack and really not indicative of accuracy - and 1 or 2 were fairly well thrown balls and just defended well. So, only 4 to 6 were highly inaccurate passes, IMHO.

On the flip side, there were no outrageous circus catches that bailed him out, although Diarse, for sure, saved what could have easily been an incompletion. If the Dupre reception was better thrown (I think), he might have scored. Overall, his accuracy problems remained, but did not dominate his passing last night.

Better than he's been doing for sure. Much of that was the play calling/system they ran for him. That's good coaching.

If this was AJ's first or second game performance, I would be happy. But this is his last regular season game and the blame is still with the coaches for not developing the QBs to the SEC standard the whole season. Good coach adjusts the play calling/scheme according to the skill of the players and should be progressing as the players developed.
