A lot of chatter about the award not going to a player with three losses this year.

No one thought an undefeated power 5 would be left out the playoff… and here we are.

Get ready for a ton of narrative around Michael Penix Jr. this week.

If Washington wins on the back of penix, they’ll give it to him. Weeks of publicity.

I just don't see it. Daniels has done things that alot of Heisman winners can't even fathom. I talking even the GOAT Joey B would be like

That logic is backwards. If anything Jayden winning the heisman follows the Bama in the playoffs logic. Favoring SEC players/performances even though other teams have better records.

It’s also just not the same thing. Bama was picked because of a combination of 1)corporate and tv network pressure to put in Bama because they drive ratings and they’re worried about FSU getting blown out and people not watching and 2)the Saban and Bama mystique. The committee outright said their main rationale for putting Bama in was the coaches on the playoff committee were more afraid of playing Saban and Bama than Norvell and FSU.

Neither of those are at play for the heisman.

Up to now, no one has even considered that JD might not win the Heisman. This thread is ground breaking stuff.

The Heisman ceremony is next week.

The resumés are finished. It’s Jayden’s.

I live out west so I’m sure I’m hearing more of the anti-JD5 propaganda.

I will never understand why people feel the need to comment on topics that they clearly have no idea about.

So, when it comes to actually ranking teams, record don’t matter. But, when it comes to individual awards, then record matters. That arse backwards thinking does sound about right though.

How does this equate to this:

????

You do realize a 3 loss player winning the heisman and a undefeated power 5 champ being left out the playoffs ARE THE OUTLIERS RIGHT???

In your silly scenario with FSU, it would be more likely that Penix winning the heisman and FSU making the playoffs would be more in line with the typical results right? The best player on the best team argument and the undefeated power 5 champion gets into automatically argument are the norms.

the ballots have to be sent by Monday at the latest. Some had already sent theirs in before the Pac championship game.

He should be fine as long as Milroe isn’t in New York. If Milroe is in New York, you should prolly worry.

Probably poorly worded on my part. My FSU comparison is basically poking holes and finding every reason not to give it to JD5, similar to the reason FSU wasn’t selected in the final 4.
