Been a LSU bb fan my entire life...41 yrs...cant remember being this uninterested in the program than I am now. No desire to even watch it online. Back in the day..I would have given anything to watch a game if it wasnt on regular tv. Now I am too lazy to even go watch on espn 3. Sad. I do not have the answers to how to get the program off life support. I would say recruiting...but these kids today..if good enough, they are 1 and done. Unless we get a coach who can recruit consistently, we may be a program that may have a run at it once every 10 yrs. If that.

Yep. All wins and Georgetown was number 2 and had Alonzo Mourning.

I remember that. Ricky Blanton's putback at the buzzer, right?

Kentucky might beat us by 40.

Maybe. Then again they only beat a bad UGA team by 13 tonight. MSU is a top 20 team playing very well at home and was fortunate to defeat LSU tonight. I think the Tigers will beat them in BR.

I laugh when people say LSU fans wont support basketball.

Something has changed recently though. In 2006, LSU had two of the most unique and exciting players in the country in Tyrus Thomas and Glen Davis, but they were struggling to get 12,000 in the PMAC. Then, in Trent's first year, LSU was 13-3 in conference play, and there weren't any hard sellouts.

It's really hard to explain the apathy. The only reason I come up with is that we've never had football and baseball competing as national powers at the same time like we do right now. If all 3 sports were to win the National Championship in the same year, basketball would be a distant 3rd in fan support; so with basketball being rather bad at the moment, I think the fans are taking a break during the months of January and February. That's a weak excuse, but that's all I've got.

Yep. We could get 60 thousand plus for that one...I highly doubt we fill up the PMAC for Kentucky...

there is some talent on this team and enough talent to be good. i loved the way they competed tonight. but the bottom line is they are not put in good positions to make plays and are too often ad libbing out there on offense and if they dont get the ONE look they're in search of from that high ball screen it is just an abyss.

they've come a long way defensively but still horrible fundamentals from blocking out to catching the ball with two hands. just so stagnant in the halfcourt with little movement and if hamilton isn't open or the ball screen yields nothing you may as well bet on a 30 ft 3 from stringer or hickey that may or may not go in. our best games this season have been a result of hamilton going to work and either turner being on or hickey creating shite on his own and a combination of those things. i like this team but they need to be put in better position to make plays when they have the ball.

I decided that I wasn't going to waste time watching the team this year. that decision just keeps paying dividends.

Dude, I am already tired of basketball. The sport sucks. I would rather watch our tennis matches.

No its not. You cant get people interested if you only have 1 good team every 4 or 5 years.

Its because we have been so inconsistant. Talent wise and record wise. Combine that with two consecutive coaches who one had a whining abrasive personality and the other has no personality whatsoever and this is what you get. Dale was a master motivator of the team and the fans.

All of these things go back to coaching.

I'm very disappointed in Trent. I actually had some hope for the program when he was hired.

If I hadn't ranted the last hour plus at my house on how pathetically coached we are on offense, I would now. I run those two sets in middle school where I coach. I can't take any more Trent Johnson!

We lost to a very good MSU team on the road by 6 points. Obviously a win is much better, but that is pretty good. Playing on the road in this conference is brutal.

"I don't think anyone here can remember how good we were in the 80s and 90s."

Those were fun years, but I always remember ending the season disappointed, especially in the late 80's and early 90's.

CJ/Shaq/Stanley/etc and couldn't make it past the second round.

I don't know at some point fans decided we were a football only school and act like they can't support both programs. I don't get it.
