I am watching the game right now since I did not see it live today. But it is fools gold right now from what i am watching but I am only 1 quarter in. Hawaii gave them 17 points to start the game.

I have a hard time seeing their QB completing 50% & then winning. He looked like Brandon Harris out there

I checked the box score, and nothing really looked even close to par compared to any SEC team I can remember.

Pretty much the same. Limit the run, don’t give up big plays (the defense’s biggest Achilles Heel last season), make DTR throw the ball on the wrong side of down and distance. Do those things, don’t turn it over and keep penalties to a minimum, and it’s never in doubt.

They were running pretty good up the middle, and their QB only had a couple tight windows that he hit, was not very accurate at any other time. If our Dline is what they say it is, we should be good…

That was the perfect result, convincing win but glaring deficiencies

I am. I saw a lot of plays where Hawaii receivers were open, but they didn't execute much. I think Max and our WRs will burn the UCLA DBs often. They will have hard time covering Boutte. Probably need to double team him, but then our other guys have a better shot at getting open. UCLA blitzed a lot also, so not sure how well that work against LSU.

I don’t think they will blitz near as much when we spread them. And when they do and Max reads it well it will be a long game for UCLA. We have too much speed for their secondary. Can’t wait

If our O-line performs, we're good. Our D will give them trouble, see Stingley & Ricks having big days.

Hawaii couldn’t block a simple 4 man rush. The rbs whiffed on blitzes all day and the qb looked lost. Really not a good Hawaii team at all. I seriously doubt UCLA can bully our DL so it’s going to be tough sledding for the bruins. Hawaii LBs couldn’t even make tackles when they were completely unblocked.

I expect us to pick him off once or twice. They will hit him a few times. Those throws will get even more inaccurate.

My point is that if we don’t allow them easy scores on busted plays/assignments like last season, I don’t think their offense can keep pace with ours.

Not to mention our OL run game against their D! Our OL wasn’t the best at pass pro but run blocking is a different story. I think we’ll be fine if mistakes are at a minimum and we stop the run or even slow it.

Stop the run and we kill them, slow it and we beat them soundly. Only two outcomes I can see unless we make tons of mistakes and can’t score points for some reason. That happens sometimes when you get flags called at key moments in a game. It slows the momentum down and can lead to more mistakes like TO’s, kills a drive or you miss a FG attempt.

I can’t see that going on for 4 quarters though. Hopefully it doesn’t happen at all. If that is kept to a minimum then it’ll be a good game for the Tigers. 42-17 or so. Could wind up like 34-20 but that’s about it. Two big plays by run and pass could result in 1 TD, 2 FG’s are made and one late TD to bring it closer. We’ll find out next week! Can’t wait! Go Tigers!
