Surtain is on Surtain! You cannot make a kid sign!

Ok, tell us what else Corey could have done. The kid clearly wanted to come to LSU but parental pressure won out.

moot point/dead horse, but I have a question.
was surtain sr.'s influence to get jr to sign with bama a "f you" to lsu for some butthurt over him (dad) not being recruited by lsu? or, did he get jr. to go there because he will inevitably take a position with them? or both?

C'mon man how is that LSU coaches issue. Kid tells the coaches for years he is 100% LSU and then he calls O at 11:30 30 mins before the deadline. Typical Saban tactic. And yes Saban hates LSU that much because we never took him back after in left Miami.

To be honest, Raymond needs to stop living on past reputations, step up and bring in a great class.

This is a make or break class for him this year.

Coaches can get stale when they stay around too long, not sure if this is the case or not yet.

I think this is just silly.

Surtain knew and had a very good relationship with Raymond, who has been on him a long time. Surtain was always an LSU lean til the very end. The best I can tell is that the choice in the end was a referendum on the LSU program under Orgeron and the continuing data inputs on where it was going. He made the safer choice for Alabama and Saban DESPITE Corey Raymond and their excellent relationship...

Raymond and the Defensive staff were the main guys asking for the help so that they can focus their efforts in one area.

Think of it like a laser beam or flashlight. When you widen the beam you get a vast area of weakened light BUT when you focus that beam you get much more light which can make things visible that weren't previously.

Raymond was asking for more flashlights. Instead of using the (1) for a such a broad area, we now have several flashlights for a deeper look at the same broad area. Get it?

Conclusion:
Worry less

I don't think the Surtain saga was anyone's fault we went all out he chose Bama.

understanding the mind of teenager is both elusive and futile....amazed at how many make their living trying to do just that.

Yes. Absolutely. Because all I have to do on a Tuesday in the middle of March is worry about the freakin defensive backs coach of a football team.
