Brian Kelly, Kim Mulkey, and Jay Johnson are having great success and McMahon is not a part of that group. While McMahon is happy for the success his peers are having, he has to be feeling like

I hope he can make a big improvement with the basketball team in year two and I will keep supporting him and the team.

He has the program and the backing to put together a winning basketball team. We do not need to be contending for championships in mens basketball to have a happy fanbase.

I’m expecting improvement

I still think CMM is a good coach. He did not have a good SEC roster last season and it snowballed. Team honestly might have been decent in a mid conferance. He gets a pass for the roster imo due to the circumstances. What scares me is what we put on the floor next season the way it looks now. He needs to add pieces to be competitive and so far that’s a no.

No he doesn’t care and he is being paid a lot to put out one of the worst seasons ever.

People seem to forget LSU's basketball program was on the verge of major sanctions. We didn't have to fire our head coach in the end but our administration was worried about our program as a whole. Give him another year or 2.

I imagine McMahon like this around those 3 coaches...

Just replace the word politics with winning.

Feel bad, no. But his situation was far shittier than Jay Johnson’s. I’m not going to rip MM, because he came into an absolute shite basketball program at the time

If he can't recruit. He can't win.

Well he's also the coach of the sport in the worse natural situation to compete on campus... His expectations are not the same as those 3 or even Torina/gymnastics/track/etc. With that said, they should have been able to win more games in the league this year. Making the tournament half the time isn't an unrealistic goal.

He has a second season to dramatically improve. If he can somehow get to .500 is SEC play and make the postseason, then he’s a damn good coach. If not, he’ll walk the plank in Year 3 and LSU will be coach shopping at that point.

Did you feel sorry for Curley Hallman?
Hallman was not paid a million to coach but he was about as effective
