Yes he needed to be fired (probably before he was) but damn that was fun. RIP to the success Saban started with Orgeron. Hopefully the next coach is a great one.

He needed to be fired if this program was committed to winning titles, but that doesn't seem to be the case though. If we're going to wallow in mediocrity I'd rather do it with a likable coach that was, at the very least, entertaining.

That’s a good point. If this program was committed to winning titles, firing Les was needed. But hiring O contradicts that.

Remind me, who was so willing to come to LSU that was such a great coach and deal with the shitass fan base that hates LSU more than other teams and deal with this AD/administration? Herman used us as his little bitch to get more money from Texas and was never coming here. Jimbo knew the terrible environment here (unreasonable expectation of fans and horrible administration). LSU could never compete with TX or A&M money.

If I were recruiting against LSU for any top prospect in the country I would simply show them the Rant and the recruitment would be signed sealed and delivered. Part of me thinks Saban has Chicken in his back pocket because the Rant is rule #1 of why no top level coach or recruit should want to come here.

You're asking who was a better hire than Orgeron at the time? I can give you about 20 realistic names off the top of my head. If you give me 5 minutes, or so, to do some research I can probably give you about 50.

You have to conduct an actual search in order to find out, so I'm afraid I can't answer your question.

Still waiting... we fired a 10 win a year coach. We have done nothing but rip to shreads a coach that has done pretty well since taking over a program so bad it had to fire a coach mid-season.

Still waiting to here your answers. I know that is not the LSU fan base way. We’d rather complain and rip our team/coaches apart than actuallybacknowlwdge that not top level coach would be willing to put up with this unreasonable fan base and administration.

No. Just because LSU hired a worse successor doesn't mean you automatically miss Miles. Geez, you people ...

Those are just the head coaches off the top of my head. I can do some research and bring you more, if you'd like.

Dan Mullen wanted the job. There’s your answer. LSU fans are absolutely no different than any other SEC fan base. If you think no good coaches would want the LSU job because of the fans, you have zero idea what you are talking about.

You want me to tell you who we could have hired if we had put together an actual search committee with a head start over every other school in the country? Lol. I don't know, because we didn't. If you want a name, Matt Campbell at Iowa State would be on my short list if I was in charge. Did Mullen get a call? No. Alleva went all in on Herman and when he had the audacity to hear what Texas had to say he got pissed off and handed the job to Orgeron. Can you give me an example of a more poorly conducted coaching search in the history of college football?

He ceased to be entertaining on 1/9/2012.

After that the Lesticles were in a lock box.

You're one of the Miles kids aren't you? Quit dicking around and give Coach O a chance to right the ship that your Dad damn near turned over. You should be proud of your Dad for what he accomplished at LSU but come on, let's face it...he was trending downward for the last 3 years of his reign.
P.S. Tell Les, hi!
