Max didnt step in on half his throws. He just threw his arms and hoped for the best.

Max johnson was one tough qb.
No one can question that.
I do think brennan is the better qb.

Here is the problem. We are still debating Brennan/Max. First of all, Max is not here. Second if Brennan was clearly better there would be no debate. Third, I hope Brennan ups his game this season to the point were we look back and say to ourselves, "WTF were we thinking? Comparing Max to Brennan?"

watching max hold the ball for ten seconds and getting sacked was infuriating

Doesn't it concern you that Brennan couldn't clearly beat out Max last spring?

Brennan went 29/48 (60%) for 430 yards, 4 TD, and 0 INT in that game. 8.96 yards per attempt.
Not bad for his 2nd start.

One thing that makes me sick is to see an out of position defense pre-snap and an offense that does not take advantage of it. Good Lord, I hope Brennan can read defenses to perfection next season.
Where do you coach? Serious question, please answer

I don't coach. But I can see situations on offense where they can take advantage of defensive alignments, get them out of alignment with motion and/or take advantage of their tendencies. This is SOP in the NFL. If you can get any of that at the college level you have a big advantage. As a 6 year senior Brennan should be able to recognize and adjust to presnap defenses. Audible into space. Audible into leverage. If Boutte is doubled know that your number two is likely open. Stuff like that.
That's what Burrow did and why he was so effective.

He certainly was not the best, but he was definitely a good, not great game manager... but the sacks in key situations were AWFUL.

Max is gone
Time to move on & support what we have.

I was more impressed with the number of points we recorded in his first three starts.
Brennan wasn't the DC.

Seems he set the SEC single game record with someone else throwing to him?
