Any thoughts on opening SEC game vs MSU?

Very winnable game for the Tigers! A win this weekend can build momentum for SEC play and a positive that the game is at 11 am. Late morning games usually tend to hurt the environment.
MSU team is very young by looking at their roster. Comeback win vs LA Tech which they had 6 TOs and one was an INT for TD. Dominated NC State a team which media picked to be a contender in the ACC. Held them to 32 rush yards. Upcoming game @Memphis which will conclude a pretty competitive first 3 games. Defense under Zach Arnett is pretty good and will apply pressure every down to Max Johnson. Mike Leach offense has been up/down so far this season. Interested to see if Daronte Jones will get away from the 4-2-5 and rush 3 and drop 8. If not MSU will pick apart our "DBU".
Very important game for both teams in a strong SEC west.

I thought it was a great way to ease into the SEC schedule last year until they marched up and down the field on us the whole game.

This is as big of a must win as an opening SEC game can be for O. Lose this game and we very well may go 0-8. Win it and I think we can possibly get some momentum and build to a 7-5 or so season

Did they really dominate NC State? The wolfpack actually outgained them. MSU had a long KO return forced some turnovers that was the difference

MSU is very winnable even for this team. It’s going to get real ugly if we lose

Watching the game they were way more physical on all 3 sides of the ball. We will see how they do this weekend on the road vs a high powered offense in Memphis.

So sad that this is even a thread.

This is the real tone setter for how the remainder of the season will go.
Route A: LSU comes out and puts together 60 minutes of what they’re capable of doing. Gets our guys some confidence for the meat of conference play.
Route B: we get embarrassed again like in 2017. There’s a good chance O gets fired after the Auburn loss.

No John Bond, no problem.

All depends on what our scheme is on defense. If O and Daronte are dumb enough to have us in strictly man coverage again, they should both be fired on the spot.
