I’m hearing from some booster friends (same that have in some instances stopped donating) that under almost any scenario, even just a 4 win season, that O will be retained.

If we win 4 games and O keeps his job I am going to be a very unpleasant poster.

I do not believe this. Five losses and he is gone, IMO.

Obviously, nothing is etched in stone, but the prevailing sentiment among those whose opinion generally matters is that Alleva must be replaced and the AD office solidified before a coaching search is started. Since Alleva is still here, and he is the first tree to fall to set the rest in motion, then barring total collapse (especially in view of financial considerations and recruiting implications), this is how it will go.

Alleva will not hire another football coach and the stated desire is for the next AD to pull that trigger.

No administration, after a decade of success, is going to want to make a head football coach hire. This is a different situation than when Saban was hired for many obvious reasons, not the least of which is this admin already deserves blame for O and Emrich benefited from anything being better than the past decade.

This is the most depressing thread I have ever read regarding our athletics.

It’s laughable that some people on this board think LSU couldn’t write the check to buyout O’s contract. The athletic department took in 147 million last year with a net profit of 16 million. They have over 50 million in reserve funds.

Money won’t be the issue let the season play out and see what happens. Fact is not one fricking person on this board knows what’s going to happen or knows anyone that knows.

He has this year and next year no matter what happens this year. Move on to another subject. Football season is here and I am sure there are other things that we can be discussing besides changing a coach when the fricking season is month away.

Miles was nowhere near the hot seat going into 2015.

Got to #2 in November.

Three games later and the hysteria in Baton Rouge was so off the charts that Alleva had his bags packed and out the door.

Of course, that was personal and O is his boy, which is why Alleva needs to be gone ASAP.

It is going to be an absolute madhouse if LSU loses 5 games this year and I’m certain Alleva won’t survive it. The problem would be is a new AD there in time to pull the plug on O and find his replacement.

Probably not, but if LSU loses to Miami, Auburn, UGA, and either Florida or MSU I think it is a certainty Alleva will be gone by the bye week with O coaching for his job against A&M.

I don’t think it will happen because we aren’t going to be below 5-3 at absolute worst but if this team collapses like that and is 4-4 or below at the bye it will and absolutely should be house cleaning time.

There simply wouldn’t be any denying how bad off we are if that is the case.

If LSU loses to Miami and Auburn, Alleva should be fired after game four so we can make sure that the football team doesn't get on a win streak and save his job.

In 2016 I didn't think there was a scenario he would get hired.

So, with Alleva, who the frick knows!
