Sorry if My title is off. Writing was never my strong suit. Did anybody attend basketball scrimmage yesterday? If so anything to share ? Probably smallest crowd Wade will have in PMAC all year .

There’s another thread somewhere, but basically what I had to say, with some more I didn’t include originally:
Reid is like Boogie Cousins. Can score from anywhere, in any way. Has good handles and range past the 3 pt line.
Starters seemed to be Waters, Edwards, Taylor, Williams, and Reid.
Team is noticeably more athletic than last season.
Just in one scrimmage it’s evident they won’t have to rely on Waters so much, which is positive for everyone.
Smart ran the 2nd team, but I think it’s going to be hard not to play him starters minutes. Kid can stroke it from three.
Bigby-Williams had a few blocks, but also seems to have a bit better of an offensive game than I thought. He did take a step back shot from the short corner that drew significant criticism from Will Wade though lol.
Mays was not with the starters, which I think is significant because of how much Wade likes Skylar. It shows how much better this team should be.
Reid is like Boogie Cousins. Can score from anywhere, in any way. Has good handles and range past the 3 pt line.

Nice. Did we run the floor or half court basketball?

Naz Reid really stood out
He gonna be a serious weapon this year, he can score from anywhere on the floor at any time

Little bit of both, but the scrimmage was also stopped every few minutes so Wade and Benford could talk to their “teams” so that kind of disrupted the flow.

That’s good to hear, from film I saw I thought he was better then competition because of his size alone. So he seems to play big boy basketball ,who would you guys compare his game to?

Going to be fun to watch. Not sure how old you are does this team compare tan all to 77 team. Thanks for the info also! And

In the scrimmage? That lineup was never run in the scrimmage.
Yellow team consisted of Waters, Edwards, Taylor, Williams, and Reid. Purple was Smart, Mays, Hyatt, Cooper, and KBW.
Graves subbed for the yellow team, Reese and Kingsby subbed for the purple team. I don’t remember Days? There are numerous pictures from the scrimmage to confirm this.

I'm lucky enough to have seen both teams, this team definitely has more quality depth than that 1977 team. The second team on this year team would embarrass the second team on the "77" team. Now the starting five of the "77" team with Macklin, Scales, Higgs, Green and Hultberg would definitely hold their own against whatever starting five WW puts on the court. JMO

It was a control scrimmage. It was full court and wade stayed on one end. After back and forth wade stopped it and restarted it by different situation. I compared it to watching UK practice with all the talent they always have

quote:they were evenly matched teams imo. It wasnt 1s vs 2s. I personally dont think Taylor or Williams are starters at this exact point in time. No way Mays doesnt start.

Edwards won’t be able to hold off smart as a starter. He’s too good to come off the bench

Who starts and who doesn't doesn't really matter, this team is a comfortable 9-10 deep.
