Naz Reid is on a different level. His transition offense is awesome. He can shoot from Steph range (Was warming up 5+ feet behind the 3pt line and was drilling them), He is excellent around the rim (has a good finesse while also being strong), and he also has good handles and passing ability.......... His weakness was defense and offensive post moves from what I saw today. He isnt really a 1on1 guy in the post with his back to the basket (at this point in time atleast).
Skylar Mays looked in the zone. His 3pt shot was automatic during warmups and the scrimmage. He played very well and to what you would expect. Missed a couple close ones at the rim like he did last year, but they were tough ones.
Kavell Bigby-Williams is a THREAT on the defensive end. He had 4 blocks in the first part of the scrimmage. He has long arms and an elite IQ of how to defend the rim. He has a wee bit of offensive game, but nothing that WillWade will facilitate too.
Tremont Waters kind of just gelled in with the game. He made his typical “look easy” layups. Missed a couple 3s. Not much that needs critique though. He is the general.
Emmit Williams looked like he might need a little more coaching, but he has the athleticism. WW was getting on him twice in a row for not guarding the paint on a 2v2 where the guard would clealy guard ball. Totally coachable though.
Javonte Smart looked REALLLY nice. He was very comfortable playing next to Skylar Mays. (Javonte and Mays were on Purple, Waters and Edwards were gold). Smart is clearly comfortable with the ball in his hands in the backcourt with his ability to play a screen and pull back and shoot. He made a couple pull back 3s very early. He also shows court vision from what I saw. Had a couple nice passes.
Marlon Taylor had a nice slam on a fast break. Played good defense from what I saw.
I didnt get to see much of Darrius Days. He didnt play with the first scrimmage group unfortunately.
Edit:
Daryl Edwards also looked very good. He drained a couple corner 3s during the scrimmage and actually showed a little authority to drive the lane and made a couple nice plays/passes. He will be our starting 3 if I had to bet money on it. His experience and leadership is there.

Really excited about getting to watch this group play. So sad to think that Wayde Sims can’t be out there with them though.

Think the only shot I saw Mays or Smart miss was Smart's 3 footer. They were automatic.
Gotta think Mays, Waters, Smart, Reid and one other player will be the starters!
Mistakes were made but were immediately fixed by Coach Wade and the staff.
This could be fun!
