True, there will be purple everyone. Just be sure to look conspicuously Washington.

And whoever recommended hitting up Coffee Call on College Dr. knows what they are talking about. Best beignets not made at Cafe Du Monde. C'est si bon.

I suspect that if you keep your color scheme to purple and white, this won't be a big problem. LSU fans, ever fashion-conscious, will anticipate the dilemma and be resplendent in gold.

Coffee Call on Saturday morning would be a great idea. On Friday night go eat at either the Chimes or Walk-ons. Don't pay to eat lunch at a restaurant on gameday. Enjoy the home cooking of the tailgaters

I understand. But if you've ever been to a game at UW, you'd understand the question. Most of their tailgating (which is great) takes place either on private boats moored just outside the stadium, or at venues across the lake, from which party boats and ferries take them to the stadium shortly before game time. It's a fun scene--just different from the LSU wall-to-wall tailgating.

And we had 100% of a great time. My husband is a UW alum (grew up in Walla2) and we had a most excellent time blending north and south. We rented one of the Argosy boats to tour the lakes for a couple of hours pre-game then docked and the stadium for our sailgating. It really was a great time.

Welcome to Tiger Stadium. One thing no one has mentioned yet is the heat -- it'll be blazing hot.
Be prepared.

And remember this too -- it's a marathon and not a sprint. If you plan on imbibing, definitely do the bus and don't try to drive back to NOLA that night.

Good advice. You don't want to pass out or have a hear stroke before the game. Make sure to drink some water between every couple of drinks to stay hydrated.

My friend, you are about to experience Saturday Night in Baton Rouge--the college football fans equivalent to a Catholic visiting the Vatican, a Muslims pilgrimage to Mecca and Jews prayers at the Temple Mount.

Hell yes....wear your colors

I'd suggest staying Friday night and prepare to party all day Saturday...go back to NOLA late Saturday night. Try booking a room at LOD Cook and you are ON campus.....

There was never any doubt in me wearing my colors, the doubt was wether or not ya'll were going to recognize me wearing purple & gold as an out of towner!

That link to the bus between NOLA and Baton Rouge is MONEY! I'll take a Friday bus for $5 and then get a bus back late sat or sunday morning.

***Thanks for the backup about my tailgate question*** We have traditional tailgates in the huge parking lots (about a half mile each),then some on campus, the greek system, and then there is the traditional boat gating. It's in 4 quadrants and there isn't a way to overflow them into each other with Montlake running right down the middle.

Besides purple color we have something else in common. WE BOTH AGREE OREGON FANS SUCK!!!! WORST MOST UNEDUCATED FANS ON THE PLANET!!! Welcome UW! P.S. My neighbor started point guard womens bb)for y'all for four straight years....Emily Florence.

Lod Cook is always sold out for home games. Between big $$ donors who have their names on plaques outside their rooms, to the team staying there Friday night, it takes major influence to score a room there.

Yep. The UW fans seemed a little put off by the jambalaya and Cajun music but they were good sports. They were also a little curious why we were setting up popup tents at 10 in the morning. "We're tailgating." "The game's not until tonight." "What's your point?"

The campus there is beautiful and the rain held off just long enough to get the game in. And holy frick that stadium is loud. Hope you have (almost) as much fun at Tiger Stadium as I did in Seattle.
