but that JJ could be an "asset" to the team at this point is, at the very least, debatable

Let's here your argument than. Tell us why you think JJ is completely worthless.

A preliminary hearing is not an evidentiary hearing. He can do nothing other than traverse the four corners of the warrant.

Actually, in my experience, Preliminary Exams can be and often are evidentiary hearings. In actual practice it seems to vary from district to district. Some hold evidentiary hearings (usually the arresting officer is the one who testifies). In some the PE's are waived but I'm pretty sure that is just something that has become accepted practice by the defense attorneys in the location. (Just how "open file discovery" has come to replace formal answers to discovery and bills of particular in many places).

Here's a LINK which sets out some of the basic info for Preliminary Exams.

Mr. Just Me, I do understand we all have our opinions on here, but that JJ could be an "asset" to the team at this point is, at the very least, debatable.... Things are good, the qb position is being handled better than it has in the last couple of seasons... better cohesion in the passing game, more accurate passes, ..... IMO
I was always pulling for JJ and glad for improvements in the past. I really believe the team performs better and will continue to improve with JL as QB, but also think JJ could be an asset for the team for situation-specific plays adding a QB run threat, as long as it doesn't introduce any problems, distractions, etc. If he is used in that role, hopefully it be done in such a way that JL doesn't feel undue pressure, like he could be yanked at any moment, and JJ can contribute and be a part of the magic.

I just want everything to work out positively for the team as a whole as well as Lee and Jefferson because I truly believe have all the components to play for the NC.

Well put. These are my thoughts as well.

This LSU team only has on QB with FBS experience. Adding a second experienced QB could only be conisidered an asset, even if that QB is J. Jefferson and you don't like the way he played last year. JL + JJ + Mett > JL + Mett

It appears that the case against Jefferson is premised solely upon what happened with Lowery.
Do you know this for a fact or just guessing?
Wouldn't it make more sense that the person with the worse injury, that was said to be from a powerful family is the reason this hasn't gone away?

Based upon the Motion for Preliminary Hearing. Moreover, no one has alleged that Jefferson was involved with the other members of the Shady4.

What exactly has Hillar Moore done to pack all of the sand in your vagina? He didn't frick up the police investigation. He didn't order the DNA tests. He didn't request the confiscation of peoples' shoes. He hasn't filed any motions in this case. He hasn't attempted to rush this case along at all. As far as I know, he hasn't put any extra time or effort into this case even though it is a very high profile case.

Very intelligent.

I know Moore didn't start the investigation, but I also know he has case disposition authority. He can nip this in the bud, so to speak. He ultimately has prosecutorial discretion and, according to an attorney friend of mine who practices criminal law, the DA's office is often involved in a police investigation from the beginning, particularly since an arrest warrant was issued.

I don't believe for a minute that some ADA or even Moore himself hasn't been involved in this case from the beginning.

Again, I, personally, would be more apt to vote for a DA who was would be more willing to "DO" his job over "Protecting" his job.
