I think he does. its my theory he doesn't want to prosecute this but he doesn't want to look soft or lenient.

The DA is a political figure and BR is a LSU town. He would love to defer to the grand jury. This is a no win situation for Hillar either he is looked on as being soft on crime or he is looked on as being a hard a@@ going after a LSU QB.

Hilar is a big LSU fan and in another life he would have been JJ's attorney.

I was curious about JJ's progression during the off season but I think having JJ come back at some point during the season would just cause more distractions and controversy. For the first time in a long time there isn't a qb controversy. We all know JL has the reigns and Mett is the back up. And we are clicking.

THIS. It is time for the LSU nation to move on and move past JJ. We don't have time for his bullshite nor his distractions, as we have championships to contend for. It was HIS poor decision making that took him out of being a part of it. I wish the best for the young man, hope he gets his degree, but DON'T frick with the team chemistry going forward. I am done with JJ as a QB, and will be pissed if Les lets him see the field again this year.

When is the 150 days up? Please don't tell me it's around Bowl Time. (I'd figure it out but I'm not searching for the actual arrest date)

For the record & not that anyone cares, I'm fine with our team the way it is NOW. HOWEVER, I would like justice to be done and this guy's record cleared if in fact he did nothing. Hopefully it's cleared soon (if that's what evidence shows) and he can run out of the tunnel on Senior Day.

Not that I have any special experience in this like you do, but I'll be pretty surprised if a jury ever hears this case.

Thanks for answering my questions.

I'm sorry, but I don't throw anyone under the bus cause the timing isn't good for LSU football.

If he did it, he is already being punished team wise. If the charge is dropped or reduced, he has every right to come back to the team whether it will piss you off or not.

No. I do not have the time, inclination, or knowledge of the issues to represent him. He'll have to retain other counsel.

Matters not actually.

It doesn't matter if the kid is hated more than Ben Bernanke in Texas, if he's innocent he should be back on the team.

I think it depends on how Miles would handle his return. If he was inserted as a situational player, I'm all for it.

Actually, you imbecile, I will match words with you anytime. And you call me obsessive-has there been a single JJ thread in the past 2 years that you have stayed out of?

You seem a little slow on the uptake, so I'll try to say it as clearly as I can for you.

He is a liability to this team at QB.

I do not hate JJ, I don't even know him. I just don't want him playing QB for LSU. It has nothing to do with hate.

It is not an accident that his attorney is spending his $100K retainer filing motions after every single win that his replacement is contributing to. I have no idea if Unglesby is a football fan, but even a casual observer would be able to tell this team's offense is functioning at a much higher level than it has since 2008. And yes, I meant 2008.

How does your little juvenile tirade relate to the topic and earlier discussions regarding the legal matters of this case?

Regarding my entrance into JJ discussions, I might ask the same of you. But unless there is an adult in the room to explain it to you, it would be a useless exercise.
What does the size of the retainer have to do with you? How are you certain that is the exact amount?
Again, the topic here is the legal situation, not your inept assessment of his playing abilities. If you under stood that, you would have kept your little bit of rage to yourself. Good advice . Take it.

I would just like to chime in my $0.02 worth. I have lost respect for Hillar Moore over this issue...and it has nothing whatsoever to do with an LSU QB or any other LSU athlete.

I would like OUR DA to be a man right now (not a political figure) and stand up and say that this case, a college bar fight, "is the least of my worries right now regardless of the participants". Right now, Baton Rouge is a war zone for criminal activities such as murders (40 or more this year alone), rapes, armed robberies, drug infestations and a multiplicity of other violent crimes that threaten the livability of the very city and parish that we call home. When the violence is cleaned up, or at least brought under control, them maybe the DA can have some time for a college bar fight. Give the participants a summons (if this is proper term) and a fine and let them be on their way. Then maybe the police and DA's office can have additional personnel to attack the cancer that is currently threatening our city.

If Hillar Moore would stand up for this principle, regardless of the participants in the fight, I would respect that and he would have my future vote.

I believe an article last week stated that the DA's office had not yet received the case from the BRPD which, if true, appears to mean that Hillar has not had a chance to do anything with it yet.

Any input from tLSU (the man who knows) or other crimlaw guys?

What exactly has Hillar Moore done to pack all of the sand in your vagina?

He didn't frick up the police investigation.

He didn't order the DNA tests.

He didn't request the confiscation of peoples' shoes.

He hasn't filed any motions in this case.

He hasn't attempted to rush this case along at all.

As far as I know, he hasn't put any extra time or effort into this case even though it is a very high profile case.

Mr. Just Me, I do understand we all have our opinions on here, but that JJ could be an "asset" to the team at this point is, at the very least, debatable.... Things are good, the qb position is being handled better than it has in the last couple of seasons... better cohesion in the passing game, more accurate passes, ..... IMO

No chance of it going to trial. I was just speaking in the legal sense.

If he's indicted, best case would be a plea to simple battery with restitution for the victim, and JJ has it dismissed and expunged with 894 in a few months.
