With the SEC's most recent westward push, wouldn't it make sense to move the SECCG to a more centralized location like NOLA? What says the TR?

It'll change venue when they get done with the new Falcons stadium (aka The Sphincter).

The current contract with the Georgia Dome doesn't expire til 2017 I believe. I personally would like to see it rotate between NOLA, Atlanta, Nashville, and Tampa like the SEC Basketball tournament.

I doubt they move it though. I can only imagine the ATL butthurt if NOLA gets the SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl.

I keep hoping for something rotational in non-school venues. However, outside Nashville, Atlanta, and NOLA options are limited in the heart of Dixie.

With TAMU in the SEC I suppose that would open up Reliant and/or Cowboy's Stadiums. Not sure how I feel about that.

I say you can't read a map.

The midpoint geographically is closest to Birmingham, Tusacloosa or Starkville. Lets stay in Atlanta, shall we?

No, you will not get the SECCG, the Sugar Bowl and New Orleans Bowl. ATL doesnt have a BCS game. Advantage ATL. Plus Houston is too west. New Orleans doesnt have enough non stop flights.

Ya I'm sure the whole conference would be down with that.

I wouldn't be opposed to some sort of rotation.

Won't happen with Nola because of the Sugar Bowl in the same venue. Even if in practice that issue is moot with the new playoff.

Since Nola isn't an option, may as well stay in the GA dome as the game happens in early December and the indoor venue obviates weather concerns.

The Chick-fil-a Bowl will be in the rotation for the playoff semifinal games going forward, so that point is moot.

The bigger issue is that the Sugar Bowl will likely host one of the teams that plays in the SECCG, either in the playoffs or in the new SEC-Big 12 Sugar Bowl.

I have no problem with Atlanta, I actually enjoy going up there.
I can dream though, right?

The new falcons stadium will be a sweet venue.

Jerry will try to make a push for it once the contract expires

In 2017 the SECCG will be moved to a new facility in the Birmingham area.

My apologies. Just couldn't resist.

Same here. I just don't understand why other SEC states don't fight for the game or at least a rotation.
