Trying to find the best antenna or type of antenna for tailgating on campus. Want to make sure we get the major channels (abc, cbs, espn, etc.) to watch the other games.
Im looking at these 4 right now

The last link (RCA rabbit ears) is the way to go. You should get 8-10 channels with the Networks being HD.

Yea I was told the rabbit ears would work but I was just skeptical about the channels. Ive heard that the local channels shouldnt be a problem but does that include espn?

No man. No antenna is going to give you ESPN.

You can make one with coat hangers. Google it. Honest, I'm not joking.
We made one out of cut up coat hangers, have them screwed into a 1" x 1/2" piece of wood. On the back we screwed into the wood some small baking racks to act as reflectors.
Google it. That way if it gets beat up or whatever, you can always make another one.
We catch HD signals when we set it up and get a bunch of channels.
Give that a whirl. No, I'm not MacGuyver.

You can, and it will work just as well, but for $10, I am just buying it.

When and if you find an overair antenna that picks up ESPN, let me know, I have a want to invest in something like this.

You don't want ESPN anyway, from what I've heard they hate LSU.

I do a lot of OTA tv. I've tried numerous antennas. Nothing, so far, beats the Zenith Silver Sensor. You may not be able to find one quickly, but anything made like that will work very well.

Sure, but it is overkill for just trying to get a couple HD stations to watch games while tailgating outside on campus.

Just trying to help the OP. He can save $10 and probably has most of the stuff laying around his house.
It's fun putting it together, kinda like when you have legos as a kid.
Go get some beer with that $10 but each to his own.

Tailgater
got me one of these, best decision ever.
setup less than 5 minutes, plug and play. it autotunes itself
only $350 which compared to others is a steal
