Our bats are great but this takes us to another level.

Yep. Tomorrow will be interesting with Money vs Cannon. Going to need all those guys again to win that one.

It’s going to be interesting to watch Cannon do his thing.

I have a bad feeling Money doesn’t make it out of the third. Those guys were barreling up Hilliard’s breaking ball pretty good right from the start. I don’t see tomorrow being any better. Hope I’m wrong, but history isn’t on our side

They scored 2 runs on one swing through 6 innings ? Hilliard got himself in trouble with walks and missed spots tonight. Not because they were barreling him up.

It's been noticeable how much less we're seeing of stuff like "Why is pitcher X still in?" "Why are we using pitcher Y here?" Of course there's still some of that, but Jay has managed his pitching very well.

Imagine this pitching staff if Jay hadn’t brought in Paul, Reyz, and Big Boy

We needed the win tonight, tomorrow is just a nice opportunity at an elite arm

He didn’t bring in Paul

ETA: He isn’t doing anything ground breaking with who he decides to throw. He uses his high leverage guys when he has the lead, eats innings with the next group when needed. The difference is all of those guys are being developed much better than they were under Alan Dunn.

Georgia has given up 20, 18, 8, 9, 23, and 3 runs on Sunday this season

Hilliard was noticeably not as sharp from the start, but that’s why he was moved to Friday. He will battle, figure out how to get outs, and keep you in the game.

Maybe they hit Money, but it will have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they hit Hilliard. They have completely different stuff.

Which is why I’m a little concerned. Moneys fastball stays on plane much more than anything Hilliard throws and if they can catch up to it, it’s going to be easier to get the barrel on. They did a pretty good job of that with Hilliards 12/6.

I hope that other poster is right and Blake comes out and mows them down.

Ok… JJ brought in the pitching coach… my view is for the most part JJ makes pitching changes much more timely. PM left pitchers in 1/2 batters too long. Games would get out of hand

Jay does make pitching changes more timely than Paul. A pitcher under Paul would be left in a few batters too long, but Jay is ready to give him the hook if he's not effective.

I think Paul was getting a bit too sentimental. He looked a little bit too much at what they were capable of, and not how they were actually performing.

Kudoz to Hilliard for battling. He didn't have his fastball for much of the night which resulted in him having to throw too many curveballs. He left a few hanging but managed 6 innings and 2 runs. Pretty solid outing when you're not ON.

Looks like Hilliard was dealing with a blister early on. Dude is a warrior
